From Ulster GAA Facebook/Twitter:

"Due to the significant interest in tomorrows match & the level of pre sold tickets we ask patrons to arrive at Brewster Park early."

A big crowd expected, and hopefully a great atmosphere to go along with a Down win!!

Incorrect Ulsterman it didn't doom us, Cavan or Monaghan!!

Oh, come out you black and tans,
Come out and fight me like a man
Show your wives how you won medals down in Flanders
Tell them how the IRA made you run like hell away,
From the green and lovely lanes of Killashandra.

FERMANAGH 0-3 1-6 DOWN H.T. Down toying with Fermanagh more like a challenge game than an Ulster Championship game Peter the Great will have to work his magic if the Erne men are to come back in this onesided game

was at the game yesterday and have to agree with wee pete!
fermanagh didn't get the decisions - Keenan dismissal dubious
Martin mcgrath punched in face and tripped up twice as he tracked back - not caught on camera!!!
Ball collected off the ground for 2nd goal.

Down flattered - if ths had been 15:15 the outcome could have been very different.
Hopw Ferm can rectify all that in the qualifiers!

Would have to disagree with you there high.catch. Although I thought it was an ordinary Down performance we didn't once have to shift out of second gear. When Fermanagh got the goal we went up and scored one of our own. Fermanagh were poor and I personally think Down were, to an extent, brought down to their level, but we always kept ourselves 5-6 points ahead without having to break sweat. Disappointing preparation for the Monaghan game. But, I expect an improvement from a Down side missing their two best players yesterday, Coulter and Gordan. So credit to Down for winning comfortably in what could of easily been a banana skin. Delighted we didn't hammer them if i'm honest, then all the talk would be of us walking all over Monaghan!!!

Also it certainly must be noted that the sending off had a bearing on the game, my initial thoughts were that it wasn't a sending off, and when I seen it on Sunday game I still don't think it was a sending off, Fermanagh have a right to feel hard done by. But these things swing in roundabouts.

Thats the glory about the GAA - people can hold their views.
I think though you will see a lot more of this Fermanagh team as the summer progresses.

I firmly believe the extra man made all the difference yesterday - anyone who has seen DK play all year realises how important he is to the Peter template.
Hope we get another crack at you later in the summer!!!

There is no harm in living in hope, but I didn't see anything from Fermanagh yesterday to suggest their going to have a long summer. But, you never know, stranger things have happened and I hope I'm wrong.

I agree. Don't get me wrong, Fermanagh did well with been a man down. But i got the feeling Down never really got out of 3rd gear. Like they took a strong lead, sat back and went to sleep as they felt no real imminent threat. Fermanagh then come back into it, Down then wake up and stretch it again. Tit for tat type scoring, but never a high risk of Down really losing it.
Fermanagh will have learned alot about themselves in this game. And i think moving forward, Peter Canavan will now see where he can improve his team tactically. They come away with their heads held high. No shame in that scoreline for Fermanagh.

Good point there Mourne Army, it would be even stranger if Down broke their 15 year drought and actually won something this year as well. 1994 is a long time ago now lad to not see any Red and Black around a trophy, other than the McKenna Cup that is! Up Down, Were Up 15 years ago and been Down ever since!

Cacs - At lease Down didn't wait 119 years of the association before winning anything! And as I've had to remind a few Tyrone folk on here lately, we didn't need the back door either.
