Did Roscommon fans burn a Dublin Flag in O'C Park?

Ros2013, what is the connection with mayo?

As regards the reputation of the ros fans. The point I will make is this. Out of every inter-county team we have come up against, the most time I ever feel uncomfortable is when I am attending a ros game. They just seem to have a bigger percentage of muck-savages than anyone else. Our biggest rival is galway, but in fairness to the galway lads, the vast majority of them just seem to be there to support their team. With the rossies there is always agro. I remember a game a few years ago where mayo were winning comfortably enough. Conor Mortimer won a free in front of the ros posts but before he got a chance to get up, over comes seamus o'niell and picked him up by the shoulders, standing him up again. All the ros fans went mad cheering, thinking it was a great thing, 'That will show ye!'... at which point CM kicked the free over the bar... That indicent got a bigger cheer than any of the ros scores. That kinda gives an idea of what I am talking about.

It's called sarcasm. It doesnt surprise me that some ( the same few ) Mayo supporters hop on the bandwagon and brandish Roscommon people as some sort of animals. All without evidence and basing it on a 2001 connaught final where apparently Mayo women, children pensioners got stones thrown at them according to paddogall.

Get over it Ros - you should know by now that paddy does not like roscommon. As for 2001, I walked up yer main strret after that game and we got fiar verbal abuse and a few cans we launched across the street but nobody was hit so no big deal just a few lads over excitied after beating mayo.

2006 - yer minor fans were at the same semi and all ireland final as us that year and were on our train going up. Couldnt be nicer people. So its not all bad.

royaldunne,

The only joke the last time we met was how well everyone bought Gillers plan of:

"Lets let meath hammer us and hence take the heat off us and we will come in under the radar for once while everyone writes us off and try make an impact from there.....almost to the very end"!!!

What really is a joke though is cheating to win a championship in such unmanly fashion!

I was one of them wearing the Mayo colours that day. Also gave my all-ireland ticket to a Mayo man in the all ireland in 2004 and I'd do it again.

Yew Tree while LiamfromJapan often launches unsubstantiated attacks on Counties you know deep down this is true about Roscommon.

THeMaster: Did you complain about Conor Mortimer being touched on the ground by seamus o Neil? Or do ye only do that when your beaten out the gate and found out diving?

I agree doublehop, some people are hell bent in dragging this thread down a road none of us genuine posters want to go, which is a shame really.

Agreed. Its all the usual suspects as well. Plus the perpetrators (if true) don't deserve the attention of a thread dedicated to them.

Do not attempt to close this thread admin, this is a very, very serious incident if proved to be true, and rational discussion must take place about the consequences of such hooliganism.

Just before the thread gets locked I just want to say that I reckon all the stereotypes are 100% spot on, especially about fans of teams I've never met, I hate people I've never met, nothing but ****!

All the usual GAA violence apologists are now out in force. If you dont like it, dont read the thread. Its as simple as that.

Actually I did Redfoot, as did those around me, and CM wasnt writhing in agony, so imagine how terrible it would be for someone to do the same to a guy who was obviously in considerable pain? Or how pathetic a fan would be if he attempted to defend such an action? Actually you are right, maybe the rossies dont have the most muck-savage fans after all...
