Nowhere in that post does he deny diving. McGuigan addresses one side of the argument and that was the sending off.

If I can recall Joe wasn't slow himself in dropping to the deck when he got the odd slap back in the day. He could also wind up opposition players and fans with his melodramatics and kisses to the crowd. Didn't he antagonise the Donegal fans something awful one day by going behind the goals to blow them a few smackers after he scored a late goal?

I remember Kieran McKeever (his club and county mate) lifting him off the ground because he didn't appreciate his histrionics. His team were well versed in the dark arts and frequently mocked Tyrone for their naivety until '95.

some very jealous people about!!! Tyrone cant win anything without being branded cheaters. The players who are criticised have been the best players in Ireland over the last 10 years and have 3 all-irelands to prove it. Grow up and focus on your own counties. Colm cooper for one is right and quick at falling to the ground under a bit of pressure is he not?

Ulster posters arguing over who is the biggest culprit for diving...........!!!
If a southern poster said this there would all sorts of names and insults being thrown at them!!

Isnt it amazing how a 10 year old incident can generate so much debate. I was at the game. McGuigan did play act but you know what, I don't give a damn. Water under the bridge. The only winners here is Joe Brolly's ego and the sales of Gaelic Life.

He did Ballybannon you are right in fact he provoked Gregory to get the ball thrown...but as you say move on. My objection to Brolly's criticism is that in distilling the ability of those guys to those incidents is unfair to them and the spirit of the game. Wee Brian proved to me that sons of great players can emerge from their shadows - he was exceptional. I'm also glad he took the opportunity to say to Gregory it wasn't his intention and he felt bad for him even if that is small consolation.
