Christy Ring Cup

Not a lot of publicity about the Ring, Rackard & Meagher Cup finals this weekend. Contrast the way Sky Sports can sell the playoffs to be the 4th team promoted to the Premiership. TG4 should be given the rights to show these games live as RTE or TV3 certainly won't give them any air time.

Even the piece on this site about Fermanagh naming their team has them playing against Donegal. It's actually Tyrone they're facing!

All 3 finals should be close. I'd tip Wicklow, Armagh & Tyrone to win. Fair play to Wicklow for coming back after losing the final last year & having league promotion stripped from them.

Best of luck to the London hurlers tomorrow in Croke Park, bring it home boys!!!

It'll be a tough game against a good Wicklow side who are favourites, for good reason, but I wouldn't write off London at all. Unfortunately I won't be at the game but I hope the Wicklow fans on here will give us a good reflection of how it goes.

And good luck to the teams in the Lory Meagher and Nicky Rackard finals.

I had tipped Derry to beat London and Down to beat London, so I will be wary of their threat tomorrow, even though we are favourites.

London have been in a final here now for the past 3 years running and they've shown their resilience so far in this championship. However, Wicklow lost at this stage last year and won't want it to happen again. Should be a good, competitive game.

No wonder hurling is struggling in these counties when prices are like that. They need to do more to encourage people to go and watch these hurling games

25 euro? is this some sort of joke?

These comps where to promote hurling in the weaker counties instead they are being hijacked by the money brigade who will say its croker and its three matches etc, but thats no promotion its putting people off - total disgrace!

Half-time London 2-11 Wicklow 1-8. Wicklow will have to dig very deep to win this one. The exiles have only 3 of last years Rackard winning team. All good hurlers replacing them.

Well done London. By far the better team. No complaints. London 4-18 Wicklow 1-17. Scoreline a bit harsh in the end.

Well done London. A few Wicklow fans on hear were getting a bit ahead of themselves after they beat Kerry. Its a real shame that there will be little or no coverage of this in the meida

Moomoo - I don't think I was 'getting ahead of myself' to be fair. I have a right to be hopeful for my county. I never once said we'd win it.

We lost to the better team on the day. London have been transformed due to mass emigration of players to London. London had only 3 players from the Rackard winning team of last year. Fennelly from Kilkenny was playing etc - backbone of the team were Tipp lads. These lads don't forget their hurling skills just because they move to London.

I thought it would be Down-Wicklow Final as did many neutrals and Down people - early on in the tournament - NOBODY tipped London. Well done London.
Shame on the GAA and RTE. Just tuned into the 6.01 news - they showed the results of all the games in Croker - not even one second shown from any of the matches - the GAA promised LIVE Coverage when they announced the creation of the Christy Ring Cup. They did it once as far as I know - Antrim V Carlow which was played before an All-Ireland Semi-Final between Waterford and Cork. Maybe they showed one more CR Final Live but I don't think they did.

maybe its becuase there is too many one sided matches in hurling these days, its a rarity you get a tight match and when we do its classed as a great game because of that alone regardless of the quality of hurling on show
