5 I think, maybe 6. I think in the past 2 teams went straight to the semi-finals and another 4 went into quarter-finals.

Are Kerry playing in Munster? Loosing to Wicklow answers that question. NO.

How about Wicklow playing in Munster ???!!! Only Joking.

I admire whay Myler has done down in Kerry tho. Watched then vs us in Croker, they were very good. D'ont know what resources he has been given, probably a fraction of what the footballers get.

Doubletree Wicklow have made great strides in the past 3 years from a very small player base. I saw Wexford beat your minors though!!

Great point Wicklowman. Down, Derry, Mayo, Wicklow and Kerry are picking a county teams from a half dozen clubs or less. It's not easy especially with immigration, retirements, and injury can desamate these already fragile squads. Great result today for Wicklow. How did you stop big O'Dwyer? We may meet next round and third time lucky for us I hope.

No disrespect to Wicklow, but if Kerry can't beat Wicklow they need not think about Munster for a while. I hope someday Wicklow are in Lenister. But there is a huge gap and it's only getting bigger.

Great day for all the Ulster counties in the Ring, Rackard and Meagher cups, all six counties involved won. Great job.

Wicklowman quick question for. First of all I'm a big advocate of the Ring and the other tournaments below it. It's a great tournament for Meath, Derry and Wicklow etc... to be involved in a competition in which they can be competitive. You would agree that Wicklow are not as good as Carlow & W' Meath who r at the bottom of the pile in lmc. My question to you is how would a Ring Cup all star team made up of this years 8 teams do in the Leinster/Munster this year?

Fair enough Doubletree - yeah we're not at the races to compete in a Leinster Championship proper. Neither are Kerry fit to compete in the Munster Championship... However, it is always best not encourage not ridicule the efforts of us trying to keep hurling alive in B Tier counties - remember the vast majority of the country are at an even lower level than Wicklow or Kerry!!

CoraFinne87 - yes I would agree we are not at Carlow or Westmeath's level - that said we did draw with Carlow in the league this year. We were depleted against Westmeath and were soundly beaten in the end. Wicklow hurling was badly neglected at all levels from 2006-2009. At underage level it had got to chronic levels - not fielding teams etc. It seems the death of Wicklow hurling as a force at B Level has been averted - but we must be vigilant.

On how a RING XV Team would get on in a Munster/Leinster Championship - my answer would be that it would take time for them to be competitive - it takes a long time for 'Group Teams' at club level to gel - this would be the same. Eventually a few scalps would be taken. Definitely Laois, Carlow and Westmeath, - Wexford and Offaly would be targets. Munster would be more challenging.

Portavogielad - I only listened to the game on the radio - I can't say I really noticed O'Dwyer anymore than any other player - Wicklow were always quite comfortable. 3 points was as close as Kerry got in the 2nd half.

Any word who won the Meath vs. London game 2. Day? Is the draw for the next round today or do we already know the draw?

Meath won 4-8 to 3-10, think there is another draw tomorrow.

Meath won by a point 4-8 3-10.
2A Teams Down, Wicklow, Derry, Meath. 2B Teams Kerry, Kildare, Mayo, London. Still all to play some dangerous teams left especially in 2B side of the draw. When is the draw?

I was saying during the winter/spring that it would not be easy, and I feared, we might not retain the CR title. Hats off to Wicklow. I hope we can bounce back. This is one reason I'm disappointed the CR winner is not allowed enter the qualifiers. We are no where near Munster Championship level. The CR winner should have a day out in the qualifiers. If they do alright they might consider promotion, if not, nothing would be lost, and they can continue as they are. Surely it is simple to implement, or is it not?
