I feel that the GAA come in for all the criticism when it comes to poor attendances at games. Cost of travel, tickets and other matchday costs such as food and drink are all factors as well.
However I don't want the GAA to be promoting our games as these unmissable, season changing, clash of the titans contests like Skysports do; over-hyping and over-praising players involved in dour, drab contests. Promotion should be of quality games. U can't fool people into going to inferior games. They'll go once, it won't live up to their expectations and then they'll be discouraged from going again.
The best thing to attract people to games would be teams playing top quality positive football and hurling, that what would draw crowds.
I have read all the posts and see all points of view. People go, I assume to watch the games. So keep the prices down and where possible have double headers. Encourage the kids with entrance free every one accompanied by an adult. Bought my son to match in Ruislip and with marquees, beer tents etc I found he enjoyed having other places within the ground to explore and meet other kids BETWEEN THE MATCHES. He is 16 and alcohol was definately not on his menu. People expect more now when they attend a match. Bring in penalty shoot outs in cup matches but please do not copy the 2 legged games a la Champions League. Keep the usual draw so a team/county can get home advantage. Finally give us a decent method so we can watch the games over here.

Whitefire its no use having quality games if people dont know about them, under 21 allireland final is on next week and hardly any one knows about it no promotion whats so ever and the quality of football is better than a lot of the seniors,
league should have more spring series in other grounds around the country withdouble headers and entertainment put on, have options of cheap 4,5 or 6 game family tickets on offer, cash incentive for league placings for counties which would make every game mean something,(win could make the difference of team holiday abroad) LEAGUE HAS TO BE GIVEN A HIGHER STATUS FOR WINNING IT
