I think the ground in Drogheda would have been big enough for this game. What do you think royaldunne?

Now wouldn't go that far clondalkin. But portlaoise would have been perfect and its a very good quality pitch

shocking stuff , everything about this game is frustrating , tyrone arent as good as what theyve been made out to be theyre very negative and synical and both teams really took their time coming out after the ht break , time for the leinster match

Royaldunne there is a gale force wind blowing in Dublin.
Trevor Giles would struggle to kick the ball any distance in Croke Park today.
When you're playing into that wind you have to use hand passes to get up the field.

Let's hope the next match is a improvement. This match epitomizes the very worst of football, hand passing cynical fouling , diving and basically a inability to play football.

Tyrone not good enough to win an all Ireland. I think Dublin will walk Leinster Kildare average at best.

Forget that crap RoyalDunne, the unsophisticated kicking the ball in to the full forward for less than 50-50 chance of winning it is gone. The 2 teams were super fit, yes some cynical fouls were committed, something which your county were the masters of for decades. So what is this lamenting for the past when there was all the ills of the current game without the science. Kildare were impressive as were Tyrone until last 10 minutes. Watch TG4 GAA gold and I have to say I think there were more hit and hope kicks that went no where. The tackle is the one rule I would love to see better defined, either a AFL style grab around the waist up to the chest or else almost no contact allowed as this rule as it is allowed far too much lattitude between almost no contact and a take to the ground grapple depending on the referees. The diving is an aspect of Gaelic Football that should be stamped out. I think if a referee should have the power to give a red card if a player tries to cheat a free.

Good result for Kildare. It will only prepare us mentaly for the season ahead. David Coldrick should look up the definity of fair in the dictionary.

Hey bannahammock. I mearly pointing out what everyone else was thinking. It was a very poor game. Ill give kildare one thing at least the tried to play football at times. Tyrone didn't.

That result will hopefully help quell the Tyrone hype.

I disagree with Royal Dunne and Clondalkin Dub (nothing new there). Another excellent performance from Kildare. They work so hard, tackling and supporting one another and not for the first time, they built up a bit of momentum going into the final ten minutes, and had the killer instinct to close out the game. In my opinion, they are two corner forwards short of the best (Dublin, Kerry, Cork). Fogarty made a massive impression. From a Kildare point of view, you'd hope he'd be capable of repeating that.

McGeeney has a great eye for spotting a weakness in the opposition and capatilising on it. Putting Callaghan half-back was a clever move and between himself and McGrillen, they had so much freedom down the wings. Mick Foley and O'Neill in midfield is another interesting partnership, maybe Meath could do something similiar? Neither would be your typical midfielder.

As for Tyrone, wouldn't be foolish enough to write them off but I wouldn't be convinced that they'll be able to improve on their Quarter-Final appearance of the last 2 years. They conceded a couple of soft scores in the first half with the wind at their backs. Shouldn't really have went in a point down playing with such a gale.
