Ok I got it wrong about Ratoath, they apparently played well but I heard our lads stopped working in the 2nd half also
For the Semis in Ratoath V Simonstown, Id go for Simonstown - The senior experience and the talented youngsters should be enough
to get past a young light Ratoath side

Bective V Don/Ash - Bectives to push on , they have the hunger which I dont think Don/Ash will have

As I said I think Ratoath will win it outright this year so sticking with them to beat Simonstown but not as easy as they did Summerhill. I havnt seen them play but aparantly Simonstown have a very good full forward line and havnt lost to many to the Senior set up so the Ratoath backs will have to be on their game. Still though Ratoath by 5

Bective Don/Ash will be very close, Bective are a good strong side that are hard to break down, however Don/Ash showed against Cortown that they are not to be underestimated. They may have lost a few to the Seniors though so this is hard to call. I think it wil be no more than 2 points either side, but if I had to chose I would pick Bective.

Final: Ratoath -v- Bective with Ratoath winning by 4

Ratoath v Simonstown..............This game is a tough one to call. Simonstowns second team is a very good team. Ratoath will be favourites going into this one and are probably favourites to win it out right. But saying that simonstown will push them close to within a goal. Ratoath to win by 3

Donaghmore/Ashbourne v Bective.............Bective to win by 2. they pulled themselves together after the loss to Ratoath even tho they knew they were through and didn't give it their all.

Junior semi finals set as a double header in Navan on Friday week (September 28th). Ratoath v Simonstown at 6.30 and Don/Ash v Bective at 8.00.

Anyone know why there were widespread fixture changes in the football championship. O Mahonys v Simonstown moved to Friday. Why? Move out the other Junior semi, spoiling a well put together double header. Why?

Good lad pmccann. What an insightful and totally original first post.
Personally, I'm glad the fixtures were moved. Wouldn't have been able to go otherwise.

was reading the chronicle today... according to the journalist the co. board want bective & ratoath to win because 2 second teams going through woud be bad for football..... why would this be true?

if ashbourne and simonstown win then surely they deserve to be intermediate more than bective and ratoath?

bit of strange article i thought...

exactly dubsout - if Simonstown and Ashborne win then they deserve and have every right to go up. they have accounted for Cortown and Dunsany already - 2 teams expected to have a big say in the championship. Ashbourne are strong enough to have a county minor in their second team....not many clubs are at that level! having a good mixture of experience and youth (of which a good few will go on to play senior) both second teams will be very hard to beat at the weekend.

Was reading the predictions myself and was wondering where he was getting the idea that it would be a headache for the county board, there would be no headache, Both teams go Intermediate, simple as. There might be headaches alright if one of the teams went straight up and won the Intermediate but worry about that if it happens. Several counties have second strings in their intermediate championships and they manage just fine

I think the headache is that they are not allowed to go into the Leinster and All Ireland Club championship

Only a club's first team can kinematics out in the Leinster Championship. If, let's say, Don/Ash beat Bective in the final, Because would go on to represent Meath as far as I know

Apologies for the post above, predictive text is a disaster. Anybody else think it's unfair to play a championship semi final at 6.30 on a friday evening? Hope none of them lads work outside of Meath or they will struggle to make the throw-in

CLubm , the boys who make these fixtures couldnt give a fiddlers about who works in Dublin, they seem to think everyone works in Navan or on the family farm

Yeah thats true, neither Don/Ash or Simonstown could go into leinster if both got to the final. Would there have to be a play off then between Bective and Ratoath?
