Today's result is a great reflection of where Galway hurling is at. In the top 6 teams in the country but a mile of winning an AI which is all we want.

Onlyhurling why do you say Galway are a mile off winning liam ? No there not as i stated earlier they have as goo a caliber of play as anyone and perhaps more All Irelands underage than anyone throw in the few superstars they have and all thats missing is consistency and belife, and who knows this new management may just bring out the potential that there .......Give your county players the credit they deserve there out there training hard and sacrificing their social lives so you have something to enjoy this summer

Maybe not but it might very well be an indication of where they're going. And I hope its not an indication of where Dublin hurling is going.

Steiki get over yourself, sour grapes and all that enjoy division 1 b. Galway have beaten Dublin not once but twice this year and should never have had to play off as we had 4 points to dubs1 but alas it appears the games might turn out to be a blessing come championship

Brilliant performance from Galway yesterday and the likes of Canning, the 2 burkes and Regan really showed that Galway are a class apart from Dublin.

Well done Galway yesterday great win ,your number 8 was outstanding what did he score and who was marking him? Keaney,Hiney,Brady,Dotsy,O Dwyer, and Mccrabb missing was to big a blow for Dublin , and this rubbish of its a 30 man squad is ridiculous did you not see what we did to Kilkenny in last years league final. Any team missing that standard of player will struggle.

Galway are far from a class above Dublin. I think all that has been shown is both teams are back in the pack in terms of being a consistent top 3 or 4 team.

Galway have been a real mixed bag in the league, 3 fairly strong performances to start, 2 desperate displays and then picked it up again for the play off games. I don't think the management know themselves what 15 will go out from one day to the next, so plenty of areas to sort out yet.

Dublin have been very competitive and more consistent than Galway but ultimately 2 draws from 7 games isn't enough in any league.

I'd expect Dublin to improve for Kilkenny and give a good account of themselves but there is only one winner there. Then its down to the lottery of the qualifiers, depends who you get in the draw really.

I'd expect to see changes in the league format if not this year then next year.

The GAA will be gutted with this given the revenue generated from the Dublin league games. A spring series game of say Dublin v Carlow in the hurling along with the football game won't have supporters rushing through the turnstiles and the GAA will have to reduce prices accordingly.

i think the league should be left alone , regardless of the fact that we will be in division 1b we will have the opportunity to play twice against 1a opposition if we are good enough of course , its not all bad , now we get the lads back like bardy , hiney , rod , mcccrabbe , keaney , dotsy , clinton , mossy and stapleton and prepare for kilkenny a game i feel we can win , i still think we can win the all ireland this year , we conducted ourselves very well overall in the elague despite misisng the lads with the galway games being the lowpoints.............as for galway as ive stated previously this win will be blown out of proportion , they are young and talented but still dont have what it takes to make the semis , their problems are lack of full and centre backs , lack of midfield , lack of a ball winning half forwrad line, canning needs a bit more help from his corner forwards as regards scoring as hayes has stopped scoring and looks better when deployed in the midfield , maybe shane maloney could be the answer if i was cunningham id go with the following for the chamopionship:
1 flannery
2 moore
3 donoghoe
4 hynes
5 collins
6 regan
7 coen
8 tannian
9 hayes
10 burke
11 burke
12 donnellan
13 glennon
14 canning
15 maloney

Think there's a lot more improvement in Dublin with all the lads mentioned not playing due to injury and suspension. If they'd of been more clinical the score would have been a lot closer. All is not lost for them yet if they can clear up their injuries. For me when I look at Galway, either rightly or wrongly I always compare them to the great team of 87/88. To me they're no where even close to the brilliance of that team and if they're to challenge Kilkenny they need to be at that level. Just don't think they have enough quality right now to reach that level.

davy burke is a wing forward after todays game , very consistant scorer but unfortunately isnt physical enough for the midfield exchanges at times

Stekhli, I think you got a bit too much sun yesterday. Any team that has a record of W0 D2 L5 will not win an AI. Yes the injured players are a huge loss but them just beginning to come back it will be 2013 before they are back. You are letting yourself down very badly here over the last 24 hours and is quite amusing picking advising Cunningham of his best 15. Maybe you should be focusing on your own teams weaknesses at a time like this or maybe it's a way of coping. I hope this is not showing any disrespect to Dublin hurling for which I'm involved and have a lot of respect for but wise up lads and sort yere own out lads and we will ours. Well done yesterday to all involved for Galway. Gaillimh Abu!

Stehkli you mention in an earlier post "are players like donnellan , tony og , kevin hynes , davey glennon going to bring galway to new heights answer is no".

Then you go and include ALL those players you stated are not good enough in the team you think Cunningham should pick for the championship! What kind of logic is that or are you just trying to be a WUM? Galway followers know the team is still a long way off KK and Tipp at the moment and it may take a few years for the many younger players to fully mature and gel as a team but for now we are happy enough to avoid relegation which I think is what we deserved after winning 3 out of 7 matches to Dublin's 0 out of 7.
