Shame to see Kerry play acting and diving. Darren O Sullivan and the number 4 have been at it. Desperate stuff.

Great dive by Cillian O Conor
------------------------------------------------

What about the free we didn't get when donaghy put his knee in Vaughan's back leading to a kerry score? What about the blatant foul on McLoughlin by galvin on the edge of the square that wasn't given? Why wasn't galvin given a second yellow for the pen?????

Yup.Killian young feigned injury to eat up a few seconds at the end, then he gives away the equalising free.Poetic justice.

Massive display from our lads, so proud, never lied down when we looked beat twice. Absolutely disgusted I couldn't make it.

Justice for Mayo. Kerry's playactin came back to haunt them. They need to wise up and concentrate on the football.

Fair play to Mayo, they are prove what can be done if a manager comes in and gets them playing with pride and passion(something only a native can do),two years ago Mayo were beaten by Sligo and Wicklow(or Longford can't remember) in the championship, enter Horan and they are transformed. Beating Cork last year, hammering Dublin in the league and Kerry had two games to beat them and could not do it. Credit where credit is due, well done Mayo!!
Oh and they didn't have to play blanket defence or rely on athletes to do it,they have some fine footballers..

Twas some game though both teams deserve credit, great open football. You can't underestimate the belief a win vs Kerry in HQ will give this team. Tis a long time til September though, no-one getting carried away in Mayo before someone says it.

Jack O Connor will look at the positives. Crowley looks good O Donoghue looks good. A kick up arse for them. Kerry looked heavy footed.

Is a foul on the ball inside the large square a penalty? I though it was a 13m free and only a foul on a player was a penalty!

Any clarity on this?

Foul on the ball inside the small square ONLY is a penalty.

Handling the ball on the ground inside the small square is a penalty. If you handle the ball on the ground inside the large square then it's a free in.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

I think you're right. I always understood that you couldn't get a pen for a foul on the ball.

It appears I was wrong.

"If a technical foul is committed by a defending player within his own large rectangle, but outside the small parallelogram, a 14-yard free is awarded to the attacking team.
If a technical foul is committed by a defending player inside his own small parallelogram, a penalty is awarded to the attacking team."

What's the story with Tom O Sullivan? Has he retired or what?
