The myth of Dublin hurling

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Deiseboy, Theres not a new craze of people proclaiming to be diehard dub hurling supporters, anyone who is only taking an interest in the last couple of years will gladly tell you so, plus with juvenile and underage getting more numbers playing now, more parents of those children who would normally be football are bringing the kids and following the team, band wagon supporters is a lazy statement, people have to start at some stage.

You mean they're a bunch of overpaid a**holes who play a boring and slow game?

Dublin 3-8 Kilkenny 1-9 at half-time in Nowlan park. How well does that fit with your myth theory?

how much did sutcliffe score? He sounded class.

When was the last time kk conceded that many goals?!

Fair play to both sets of attacks and brutal from both defences.

Look a wee bit beyond the actual single point defecit, its a long hard summer ahead, Dublin had a lot of guys missing they'll be there or there abouts. Can't imagine either Daly or Cody being happy with that scoreline. That KK backline looks rather shaky.

Dublin should be very happy with pressure on squad through injuries and sending off. I think Daly will be happier than Cody. Dubs will go close this year.

Yet another loss on the board. Not a bad performance but you'd expect KK to be able to up it when it matters.

Is relegation now a big concern for Daly and the Dubs?

Certainly looks that way,

Not sure why my reasonable response to silly posts here were not put up when you have people who quite obviously know no more about Dublin hurling than my bottom does about snipe shooting taking cheap shots.

For the record, Dublin have a few chances of avoiding relegation. Going to be us and Waterford playing off anyway barring Cork or Tipp both losing twice and ourselves and Waterford winning twice, and with a bit to spare to make up score difference. And no, it is not a great concern. Next year 1B is likely to be Offaly, Wexford, Limerick, Antrim, Carlow and Dublin or Waterford. So not exactly Junior B! Would be disappointing but as I said previously, we have bigger fish to fry this year and a different timescale.

True, it's not over yet, just look at how Wexford avoided relegation last year against Cork & Tipp (even though we were effectively relegated anyway by the league restructure but that's another discussion)

It would be a shame to see Dublin relegated the year after winning the league because they don't belong in division 1B, no more than Tyrone do in Division 2 of the football

gigoer,

You get what you deserve in football and hurling. You can't make up rules for teams like the dubs and tyrone to avoid relegation and then treat teams like wexford with the sort of disdain croke park did last year by relegating them.
