John Leahy. Had absolutely everything. Saw him play a club match once and his performance was out of this world. He was playing midfield and single-handedly brought his team back to level terms from being miles behind to the immense and vocal anger of the opposition. The more he scored the louder and angrier they got. Final puck out and they're roaring at their keeper "just keep it away from that bo**ox Leahy". Up pops Leahy comes down with the ball and drives it over the bar to win the game. Tops it all off with a two finger salute to the keeper who'd been his most vocal antagonist all game long. derfil1 (Kildare) - Posts: 1612 - 11/03/2012 20:56:22 1127120 Link 0 |
I still cannot look beyond Shefflin as the best hurler I have ever seen. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 11/03/2012 20:57:04 1127122 Link 0 |
Well I know I am biased here but Ciaran Carey in my eyes was the best. creb (Limerick) - Posts: 131 - 11/03/2012 20:57:57 1127125 Link 0 |

In fairness now Tommy Walsh has won all stars in the full back line, half back line, midfield and half forward line. Never has a bad day, always a contender for man of the match. He is the greatest hurler ever for the simple reason that he is the best at the moment and the speed and standard has never been as high. 890202 (Wexford) - Posts: 1278 - 11/03/2012 21:16:07 1127161 Link 0 |

Its disappointing to see that the Wexford lads favourite hurlers of all time are KK men. No rivalry there at all lads? I wouldnt mind if the question was the best ye'd ever seen! tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 12/03/2012 08:13:21 1127225 Link 0 |
Hardly matters that much Tiobraid. It's called impartiality, and giving credit where its due. perfect10 (Wexford) - Posts: 3929 - 12/03/2012 09:41:17 1127257 Link 0 |
Alright tiobraid, perhaps some folk are putting in the best player they've ever seen rather than their favourite. If that's the case, I'd say DJ Carey too. gigoer (Wexford) - Posts: 1998 - 12/03/2012 10:05:02 1127277 Link 0 |

I was just trying to make the point that Wexford have had some great players and characters in the past. Storey, Liam Dunne, Fenlon and the like tiobraid (Tipperary) - Posts: 4119 - 12/03/2012 13:01:10 1127507 Link 0 |
