Nicky English. Teak tough and more skilful than a spidermonkey.

G'way with your DJ Carey.

Seánie McMahon.

A tough operator but incredibly skilful at that. Broke his collar bone in the Munster semi final against Cork in 95. Clare had used all their subs so he was put in corner forward!

He hurled on in anyways and won a sideline ball in the last minute from which Clare scramled the winning goal!

John Leahy. Had absolutely everything. Saw him play a club match once and his performance was out of this world. He was playing midfield and single-handedly brought his team back to level terms from being miles behind to the immense and vocal anger of the opposition. The more he scored the louder and angrier they got. Final puck out and they're roaring at their keeper "just keep it away from that bo**ox Leahy". Up pops Leahy comes down with the ball and drives it over the bar to win the game. Tops it all off with a two finger salute to the keeper who'd been his most vocal antagonist all game long.

Their was also a match against Cork, early nineties where he gave an exhibition in the half back line.

I still cannot look beyond Shefflin as the best hurler I have ever seen.

Well I know I am biased here but Ciaran Carey in my eyes was the best.

In fairness now Tommy Walsh has won all stars in the full back line, half back line, midfield and half forward line. Never has a bad day, always a contender for man of the match. He is the greatest hurler ever for the simple reason that he is the best at the moment and the speed and standard has never been as high.

Its disappointing to see that the Wexford lads favourite hurlers of all time are KK men. No rivalry there at all lads? I wouldnt mind if the question was the best ye'd ever seen!

Hardly matters that much Tiobraid. It's called impartiality, and giving credit where its due.
If the question was "Your favourite player from your own county", then it would be different.

Alright tiobraid, perhaps some folk are putting in the best player they've ever seen rather than their favourite. If that's the case, I'd say DJ Carey too.

But if you're looking for favourites, Damien Fitzhenry - he was something else for us and I still miss him

I was just trying to make the point that Wexford have had some great players and characters in the past. Storey, Liam Dunne, Fenlon and the like

Henry Shefflin is quite simply the greatest .

Last year showed that If it wasnt for his injury 2 years ago the Cats would be going for 7 in a row this year.

Tommy.

Favourite Dub is Joey Towell. Goal scoring machine of the 70s and early 80s. Probably few of you have even heard of the man.
