alexandersuper, i doubt you were actually at the match. the player dismissed was carrying the ball, was hacked by the mccools player and did nothing more than throw his stick back. having marked this player i can tell you honestly he likes to try to rough house his opponents but if he is on the recieving end, he hides. tell me honestly do players like that contribute in any way to the advancement of donegal hurling.

was at the mc cools and setanta match too and the setanta player in question should not have been sent off, the mc cools player as soon as he came on started hacking damien browne and doing evrything to him to get him to react but hedidnt so he moved on to dwyer, all that happened was a slight swing of the arm back to try an get him off his back but some how the inisowen ref saw it different??..on the final itself it will be very tight but i think setanta will be again to strong for burt, they have a mixture of youth and experience all over the pitch that will blend nicely for them to beat a burt team for the second year running!!

Well it all seems to be pointing to a setanta success. they have to be hot favourites.sure burt have no good players do they.they won't be that hungry this year.they are a tired old team.setanta have all advantages over the pitch. dwyer no real loss to them anyway..burt have to be big underdogs?first time in nearly 20 years..be interestin t see how they react...there not goin great tho..

Thought the hurling final was a great advert for donegal hurling. To give burt their dues they really put it up to setanta in the first half but the setanta team have really come of age. They didnt panic, they continued to play in a composed and controlled manner and when the important scores were needed they produced. Burt played about as well as they are capable of but this setanta team are a little bit special. They seem to have leaders all over the pitch and when their backs were against the wall they restricted burt to just one point from play in the second half. I believe they will be great representatives in ulster and stand a very real chance of progressing to the all ireland seies if they can get past the antrim champions this sunday.

Fantastic win Setanta, over the moon to hear it!!

Jeasus I was at the semi final too, thought some of the Setanta play was very sloppy then, esp the trying and failing to pick up the ball at every chance.

I'm sure P Campbell had them well wound up for the final. Well done again.

As for the sending off in the semi, he took the bait from the hacker 19 alright.

I also wish young Porter the best with the arm, he had played a great composed game that day.

Smile while your swinging in Ulster lads.

Would the result have been different if the suspension wasnt lifted?

So Dwyer "did nothing more than throw his stick back"... so the ref was right after all then!
Dont think it wold have made a difference in the final if he didnt play .. it was a superb disciplined performance from Setanta against a dirty enough Burt team...

Alexander, i presume you either have never played the game at any significant level or were so pressed against the fence the wiring blocked your view. It was a joke however that the player who couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat let alone a sliotar, didnt even recieve a yellow card despite repeated dirty fouls in his short spell on the field. When confronted after the match the same player said he was only doing the job he was told to. I can honestly say that no setanta officials sent a player out to do a job on young massy or trout. Get some true hurlers in your team, ditch the dirty players and maybe we ll see an all finn valley final ( if you can see through the fence).

underage in this county is not good.. i play with setanta under 16's and live in killybegs.. i'm not happy that the under 16 championship has not been completed.. we're supposed to be playin burt tomorrow in da county semi final.. this is the 2nd week in a row i've been told this.. it was called off last week due to burt not having the numbers.. but i think its stupid that its being played this time of year at all.. after the long summer where barely any games were played.. it will more than likely drag on into the month of november before the final is eventually played!

Good luck to da senior lads in the ulster final.. bring it home this year lads!
