Have to agree with bbilly, hes a level, at least, below the truly talented players, like Canning or one of many Kilkenny forwards in recent times. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8821 - 10/02/2012 10:12:56 1108902 Link 0 |

Guys, there is no bigger supporter of JC than me but let's wait until he delivers at the highest level on the biggest stage before we start complaring him to Lar. Corbett has delivered on Senior inter county AI day, his 2009 and 2010 displays in the AI finals were amoung the best ever. onlyhurling (Galway) - Posts: 800 - 10/02/2012 10:43:29 1108927 Link 0 |

Onlyhurling, Corbett is not a patch on JC. Most of his scores were in high scoring matches that Tipp won well. Canning does it every day, regardless of opposition. Where was Lar against KK last year?????? bbilly (Galway) - Posts: 414 - 10/02/2012 14:27:28 1109083 Link 0 |

why are people knocking Lar,he was and still is a great hurler and sportsman, how many of the posters on here would keep Lar quiet on the field. mooncat (Kilkenny) - Posts: 543 - 10/02/2012 14:59:42 1109121 Link 0 |

Joe Canning has little or no impact on senior inter county hurling. He's a great man at club level or Fitzgibbon cup level. Killarney.87 (Tipperary) - Posts: 2513 - 10/02/2012 20:23:34 1109336 Link 0 |

arock, Lar was a class act, don't me wrong, I'm just saying he was'nt as good a hurler as Canning, DJ, King Henry, Eddie B, the list goes on, and thats only hurlers of recent years. It's not rediculous to say that, it's an honest opinion. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8821 - 14/02/2012 19:29:10 1111714 Link 0 |

Only when Joe and Galway deliver on the big day can he be compared to Lar Corbett or Henry Shefflin or the like. Pinkie (Wexford) - Posts: 4100 - 15/02/2012 09:43:37 1111883 Link 0 |

One of the greatest modern hurlers I wish him a happy retirement and thank him for providing me with plenty of entertainment over the years. Tom1916 (Armagh) - Posts: 2001 - 15/02/2012 09:51:08 1111894 Link 0 |

Fact of the matter is he has retired when he can offer so much more to Tipp over the next few years. Sounds like the Tipp county board didn't listen when he and many others were on the Late Late show last year. Sad to see him go but Gaelic Games are a past time and there are other priorities in one's life. DanBreen (Kerry) - Posts: 73 - 15/02/2012 13:43:40 1112163 Link 0 |
