S Goldrick. Michael Hickey scored 0 - 11 in League or Leinster final around 1979/80 I think (but don't put your house on my memory!). Was brilliant free taker but got dropped by Heffo for missing one. Or so the story goes :-)

i believe he used to play rugby for old-belvedere alongside olly cambell (who took penalties for the lions on tour). however in club games it was michael hickey who took the penalties.

Brian Carroll got 0-16 v Laois for Offaly in championship a few years back!

JOE CANNING got 2-12 against Cork in the qualifiers in 2008! and lost.
He also got 2-9 against Killkenny in the qualifiers in 2009! and lost again.
He got 1-18 for LIT (including 0-4 from sidelines) in the Fitzgibbon final against WIT in 2008! and lost again.
And he got 4-9 for the u-21's in the All-Ireland semi-final against clare in 2009! and you guessed it, lost again!!

Hurling1guru1 I think all that proves is how dependent on one man Joe Canning those teams were. Joe has won a lot at club and underage county level also.

joe bergin's return of 16 points in a game that went to extra-time where 9 points where scored from frees in a walsh hurling game against a DIT side, hardly rates as one of the most impressive displays or scorelines of all-time....lets see what scoreline he puts up against the big sides in the leinster and all-ireland championship and then you can rate his performance as sensational.

Amttie forde scored 1-8 against Meath in the LFC in 2008. Wexford were losing by something like 11 points with 25 mins to go and won out in the end. he also scored 4-5 against galway in a league game around 7 or 8 years ago.

J.Doyle has also rakced up huge scores before.

Much harder to rack up a huge scores in football.

Nicky Rackards 7-7 in an all Ireland semi is unlikely ever to be equalled.

I've found a higher tally since! In a recent all ireland minor camogie game, Down forward niamh mallon scored 2-19.. that will take some beating! Also Conor Lehanes 7 points from play against waterford yesterday was very admirable

what did fermanagh score ? 9-23 or something. what was quigly's tally ? 2-12. That's only 36% of his team's overall score.
still a good score but come-on it was against Kilkenny. i reckon I might even get a couple of scores against them too.
