I think that pk57 is right.it will be very diificult to get fans on board for the leagues when so many managers openly admit that theyre not that bothered.

I was in Newry on Saturday evening and was dissapointed with the crowd - there was more at the mckenna cup, only 4,000 maybe. alot of people watched it live on tv. In fairness there was very few donegal people - too great a distance to travel at night or stay over

armagh v cork , Cork were expected to hammerd armagh so maybe this affected the attendence. Also cork only took 5 -10 supporters with them, while armagh would take 1,500 to Cork with them.
I think a 10 euro is ample

Can anyone tell me how it costs 20 euro to go to croke park this sat. night to watch the hurling while for dublin/kerry/tyrone/kildare it was 13 euro

the dublin county board were running the games in croke park and goes under the league prices or else the bundle of 6 games costing 30 euro were as the gaa fix the prices for club hurling and football finals

There was around 8000 + in navan I'd say. Seems to have been best attended game outside croke park. Also I am beginning to notice during league they mainstay of attendance is when dublin (naturally) meath , kildare, or tyrone involved. So looks like we will break
They h&s thing when we host kildare first week in march. As for entrance 10e me 2 kids in free one had to pay half price. Its not bad value. The killer for me is the 80+ round trip to get to home games

They are predicting 10,000 at the Dublin v Mayo game like that would be a good turnout. The Dubs will bring 5-6,000 so that means only 4-5,000 Mayo fans will come out to see their team playing the All-Ireland champions.

I wouldn't mind a reduction in price to a fiver, but truthfully take no particular issue with a €10 admission, come the championship those prices will be €25/€35 at a whim. Besides, head into a poxy late bar/club in any town on a Saturday night and they'll expect a tenner from you to let you in the door. A GAA match seems like good value for money by comparison

Isn't adult prices 15 euro for Div 1/2 & 10 euro for Div 3/4?

I doubt the Croker game was a loss leader, the amount of stuff purchased in the stadium was incredible.

Probably not. I find the 30,000 needed to break even dubious. Did tyrone or kildare give up home venue, local business lose out there a bit. they will be first to be tapped for fundraising

The attendance in croker last saturday night wasn't great. probably because of the bad weather. Both games were on setanta ,so they could watch the match in the dry if they wanted.

I'd say we'll be lucky to get 5,000 in Tralee tomorrow night.

tell me what pub you pre drink in around croker and I will steal that too ;D

just want to say to the people saying they don't pay 13 into nightclubs unless I get a promotional voucher from a friend its always between 8 and 13 quid into a nightclub around the greater dublin area.

On the topic itself I would sincerely hope the Dublin v Mayo game breaks the 10k mark otherwise its a bad sign of the times.

I'd expect the westmeath v meath game to be fairly packed although i cant imagine westmeath will be too bothered to turn out and support their team. If meath. kildare and galway win their next games expect a bumber crowd for the meath v kildare/galway games. id say navan would be fairly full for the meath kildare one and if meath were to win a lot of meath fans will travel to navan.

**i meant travel to galway not navan.

and tyrone are one of the best supported teams in the country id say there would be a huge crowd at the tyrone meath game if we are both doing well by the time we meet.

5,700 was the official attendance in Tralee Saturday night but it was definitely closer to 8,000. There was a great crowd and great travelling support from Armagh, fair play to them, I hope they enjoyed their weekend. Kerry County Board couldn't deal with the crowd with delays outside the ground, very bad system in place there.

Only a few thousand in Mulingar but Meath fans outnumbered the home support by about 3 to 1.
