Kildare back in the transfer market?.

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

You may have played tougher teams but you didn't beat any of them dublin, cork, kerry, donegal, down, tyrone, armagh,

The fact is this is the last desperate throw of the dice by a desperate management in hope of actually winning something.

Bring in seannie johnson bring in glen johnson heck bring in ben johson it will make no difference come summer dublin will hockey yous off the field AGAIN.

But yous can always say you beat meath 5 times hahahahaha. But nothing more.

Doublehop. I've read through this forums thread and to be fair neither jinxie or royaldunn ever strayed from there original points on this issue and quite steadfast in there views. You too have been very vocal on this issue but then you accuse others who have same view are biased?
That seems to me to be only contradiction. And why do kildare posters keep going off on tangents rather than dealing with the fundamental point of debate

Its interesting that Meath & Dub, who traditionally benefited a lot from imports are now critical of a county that say an import will be given a chance if his transfer in is approved.

My own county have had a few over the years, like P J Ward, Dave Kavanagh, Mick Ashe etc.

Might have went a bit over board there but it royaldunne knows it wasn't just based on this thread. Over the quoted 570 posts way more than half have been on Kildare. There is way too many 'you all think this' or ' you all say that' when he's talking about Kildare. There's plenty of disagreement on the Kildare forum just as there is on Meath's and everywhere else. The "EVERYONE knows he was. That's everyone obviously except the kildare guys on hear. Poached. End of." post just pushed me over the edga because of what I've heard first-hand locally this is not the case. Now don't get me wrong the whole thing stinks more than a public loo toilet but why keep insisting you know something about it when all you're doing is once again making lazy assumptions.

Oh so now its a hurling discussion?? Thought it was clear I was talking about football.
But obviously some didn't get that. So ill make it a little clearer. What footballers?

Facts are kildare do not have talented players of there own like roc, brogans and so on, and have to seek them from other counties. Which begs the question should it be allowed?. And if so it is another step towards this quasi professionalism that is eroding the amateur status of our games.

Isnt the problem with Johnston that all the other transfers were for work purposes but it is widely accepted that his transfer is for football purposes only,(which is fine in other sports but is not what the gaa is about).
Lets not forget that Mcgeeney also tried to poach Shane Supple.

Hit the nail on the head there TheRoad. That is exactly the issue here. Even the CCCC decision highlighted this irrespective of where he could show where his residence is.

Its a GAA discussion. And no it shouldn't be allowed. But as I've said time and time again its happening at club level (yes in Dublin too) and there is nothing about it. Why is that?

Correct throad. This is purely for football reasons. Not work. Should not be allowed to happen. No matter what county it is its wrong

Yes it happens at club level. And it should be stopped. But do you not agree that a county to county transfer is far more serious? And leaves objections to club transfers redundant? This should not be permitted and to be honest the last line of defense in this is the kildare supporters. Speak with one voice and say NO.

So why it it happening at club level and there is no outrage over it?

Of course there is outrage at club level and rightly so. But this does not get reported on by media or hs or even local papers. Does that make it right? No. I have often spoke against this at club level and will continue to do so. However because of this issue it will make it a lot more difficult. As it sets a precedent and even worse at senior inter county level

Hs will not permit threads on individual clubs as people are easily identified.
But I will not be distracted from this by anyone. This is a boil that must be lanced. And if kildare permit this well then the gaa community will turn on kildare.

Jesus Joe ! This is like one of Hitler's early speeches !! Hope you're not a corporal in the army ?

I know many genuine GAA people the length and breadth of the country including many good dub friends and thank God they would not think like this ! Best of luck with your crusade and 'cleansing'
