Half Time scores

Meath 0-06 0-08 Kildare.........score line flatters Meath.

Derry 0-09 0-03 Monaghan......Monaghan down to 14 men, Derry dominating what is a very poor poor game.

Tyrone - westmeath. Tyrone. But maybe not as easy as some might think
Louth - monaghan. Monaghan. Close but just may shade it. Better scoring options
Galway - meath. Meath. Seem to be coming very strong galway will test us but our forwards should win it.
Kildare - derry. Draw. Derry will see this as one they can win kildare were very good against meath so ill hedge my bets although if there was to be a winner might be kildare

Whats put your nose out of joint now squid? Paul Finlay along is a bigger threat than the 6 Louth forwards. I dont see how you could disagree with that squid.

I can think of a few more squid. Kieran Hughes and Owen Duffy for a start. We're not exactly shooting the lights out ourselves. An average of twelve a game at the moment and we weren't up against tough defences until last Sunday.

Anybody else a little disappointed with Galway so far? After getting off to a great start with a win in Derry, they failed to beat Louth at home and lost to Westmeath.

Greengrass,

Paul Finlay is currently Monaghan's main score getter.

If Jap doesn't get the 7/8 points he's accustomed to getting then Monaghan will struggle.

He got 2 points last weekend against Derry, Monaghan lost, no-one else on the team came to Monaghan's rescue, that's the point I was making.

If Louth concede frees within 50mts Jap will kick them for fun all day.

If Louth don't give away silly frees (Dessie) then Monaghan's overall tally will be reduced big time.

Greengrass thank you. I was not been disrespectful to louth one bit. I said it would be tight and it will be but in my opinion and its only my opinion monaghan seem to have better scoring options. I would be delighted to be proved wrong. So squid relax will ya. The only reason why you picked out my post is cause I'm from meath. Simple. So when you want to have a grown up conversation about matches I will be around but if you and that lad who calls himself after a failed economist and failed politician just want to be anti anything meath then by all means go ahead as we all remember your highlight of 10 was kildare beating meath in qf and not your own county reaching there first leinster final in decades. That does say a lot about your loyalties and your sense plus probably your age

So what are Monaghan's "better scoring options"???

Also show me where I said my "highlight of 10 was kildare beating meath in qf" ???.

You may pull the wool over the eyes of some posters on here but you'll not fool me with your auld palaver.

They have more than one scorer. I forgot to mention Tommy Freeman. They certainly have as many scoring forwards as we have. They scored seventeen against Kildare and very few were from frees. Your point about their overall tally being reduced big time if scoreable frees are not conceded is true of any team including ourselves. If Paddy is held our tally will be reduced even further.

Greengrass,

How many of the 17 points against Kildare did Jap score ?.

Tommy Freeman isn't the golden boy he once was, trust my judgement on this. Conor McManus is the new kid on the block, but I don't think he's available, well I hope he's not.

Of course they have more than one scorer, all their forwards are capable of scoring as is their midfielder Dick Clerkin on occasion, they have backs who like to go forward aswell, but they rely on Paul big time. Saturday's loss to Derry is proof of this, non of the other 5 forwards stepped into the breach.

Young Dermot Malone is a good kid and is capable of getting scores as is Stephen Gollogly, but Jap is their main scorce of scores

We do rely on Paddy for scores, but overall I believe the Louth forwards are better than their Monaghan counterparts and Sunday will prove this.

Darren Clarke had been our top marksman this campaign, but unfortunately Darren would now now appear to be carrying an injury, and it looks like Shane Lennon will now be out for some considerable time, two player Louth can ill afford to be without imo.

I believe Derek Maguire will play havoc with the Monaghan backs and I think JP could also be a match winner for us. Andy McDonnell will also be a handful. I believe the use of forwards with pace rather than the use of big men will find the Monaghan backs out.
