Kildare and Tyrone to go up! OLLIE (Louth) - Posts: 12224 - 01/02/2012 13:23:18 1103514 Link 0 |
Think promotion will be very tight between Tyrone, Galway, Kildare and Derry with a lot hinging on games this weekend. Losers of Louth and Westmeath dead certs to be relegated, while Monaghan on very poor run of form too. Meath prob just to do enough to stay clear of trouble. Guys, if ye knew anything about Kildare football you would know they are not consistent performers in the league and never have been. I think its because they are focus on strength and conditioning this time of year and dont get up to speed till the championship. Was defo the case last year because when we played them in Dungannon they were shocking yet played good stuff in the summer cacsmckilly (Tyrone) - Posts: 1294 - 01/02/2012 13:57:51 1103547 Link 0 |

Derry and Tyrone to go up, Louth and Westmeath to go down. Cute_Kerry_Hoor (Kerry) - Posts: 2518 - 01/02/2012 15:34:12 1103645 Link 0 |
Tyrone have been very fortunate with the draw. We have 4 home games (Meath, Monaghan, Derry & Westmeath). 2 away games (Galway & Louth) and 1 neutral venue (Kildare). Thomas Clarke (Tyrone) - Posts: 1002 - 01/02/2012 15:56:59 1103668 Link 0 |
Tyrone & Derry to go up... Kildare won't be far away either. downtothecore (Down) - Posts: 349 - 01/02/2012 16:17:51 1103683 Link 0 |
It's a tough division. Generally in football being in the top two divisions is good for preparation for the Championship. All of last years provincial champions are in Division 1 which reflects well on the league. Recent division 2 champions have gone on to do well. I think that's an important point. Some dismiss the importance of the division 2 final when both teams are already promoted. Winners kick on to win the divisional finals. legendzxix (Kerry) - Posts: 8773 - 01/02/2012 16:31:33 1103698 Link 0 |

Tyrone,Kildare look the two best in this group. Div 3 is the hardest one to predict. Gaa_lover (USA) - Posts: 3607 - 01/02/2012 19:26:09 1103854 Link 0 |
Promotion - Kildare , Derry DUB1 (Dublin) - Posts: 5583 - 01/02/2012 19:40:46 1103875 Link 0 |
Two from Derry/Kildare/Tyrone for promotion - the first couple of weeks will be important, the way the fixtures have been drawn. Galway have lots of talent and some great underage teams coming through but they might need another year or two. Monaghan still have plenty of good footballers but again, are rebuilding somewhat. Meath are physically enormous and can be devastating at times but seriously lack pace and will also be without Shane O'Rourke, I believe. Louth and Westmeath may struggle to survive at a higher level, as did Sligo and Antrim last year. doiregael2 (Derry) - Posts: 337 - 01/02/2012 20:10:02 1103902 Link 0 |
