Great player...............had pace to burn and lethal accuracy with an eye for goal, the perfect corner forward..........his place in history is assured as a member of the greatest hurling team of all time.

I don't know what you need to do on here to be considered a great.

However:

Eddie was man of the match in the 2007 all ireland final.
He should have been man of the match in the 2008 all ireland but they gave it to the boss.
8 All Ireland medals, all on the field of play.
Destroyed Galway in 07 scoring 2-3 followed up with 1-5 in the final.
As for the cork comment. He scored 1-1 against them in 2010, 0-4 in 08, 0-1 in 06. I presume that is a wind-up.

An absolute legend. When he got the ball in hand you knew he was going to head for goal. And he was great at clinically finishing games early.

A great hurler, anyone who thinks otherwise hasn't a clue. Not only is it funny that Dub is questioning his ability, he then comes out and says he doesn't rate him as highly as Sheff or Dj. Well Sherlock, not too many were or ever will be as good as the 2 you compared him with.

8 All Irelands syas a lot... a tremendous player and he has the medal haul to prove it!
I think his performance in 2011 was one of his greatest. When you look at the game again the number of times he ran himself to be around the square when the ball was struck for a point to be there if the ball hit the woodwork was staggering. He ws there to poach a goal if the ball did land . His pace then to get back to his posititon before the puck out was incredible and shows his massive desire to win. He then went back to help out his haalf back line. His run for the goal was gut busting and turned the game in Kilkenny's favour at a crucial tim ein the match.

Eddie was blessed with natural speed and for a 33 year old to run with such pace and to run incessantly for about 60 minutes was remarkable. His hooking blocking and general harraqssing was exceptional. So, for me his performance in 2011 was as good as any of his previous all ireland performances.

A very fine scoregetter and a good team player.
As for his place in the History books and teams, lets leave that for a few more years yet... leave the dust settle a while.

8 all ireland medals. And not worth an article in the irish independent or times. You can bet if he was some x-factor non-entity he'd have had a write-up.
