Farewell Eddie Brennan

A vital part of what surely has been the greatest hurling team of all time, take a well-deserved bow, Eddie. A ruthless goalscorer, he also had a tendency to be tough, I think.

One of the greats, without a doubt.

Eddie would make a Top 20 hurlers of all time list in my opinion. Third most influential player in the team known as the greatest of all time (behind King Henry and Tommy Walsh).

Blessed with instant pace and a deadly eye for goal. Incredible player. .

I dont think he performed in enough All Irelands against Cork to be labelled a great hurler. i would rate Shefflin Dj Carey as great hurlers but its just my opinion i wouldnt rate Brennan as highly as them

Class hurler. 1-5 in 2007 and 2-4 in 2008 all ireland finals. He also tormented cork in the semi finals in 2008 and 2010 as well as the 2006 final. I dont think people realise how big of an influence he was in the 2011 final. It was a brillant call by Cody to play him.

Its ok lads to credit people being great....especially when they have a record amount of All Irelands in their bag!

MOTM in 08 final...cody getting it was a joke and unlucky not to get hurler of the year. I think that was Dans year? Of the current era from play i'd suggest he maybe ahead in scores from play over the last few years?? Not saying hes better than shefflin but undoubteldy their second best of the last 10 years. I'd imagine he was the most feared forward in possession when running at goal

'Fast Eddie' he was known and and not without reason. A ferocious sight for any defence when hes running at you one of the most lethal forwards of his generation

A great goalscorer, not so sure about great player, a very good player though. He wasn't good at scoring points. I think compared with other kk forwards of his time others are better. Sheflin is obviously miles better, i'd have gorta or Richie Power in my team ahead of him too.

Having said that he left loads of great memories behind. The run both off the ball and with sliothar for Hogan's goal last year was pure class.

Fantastic player and a prolific goalscorer. I'm sure Kilkenny will remember him with fondness

And on a personal note, back in 2008 I think it was, I had 20 quid on him to score the first goal in the All Ireland final against Waterford, which he not only did, but the second one as well! Either way, it made me 180 bucks at the time, so thank you Mr. Brennan!

Anyhoo, best of luck to the man on his retirement
