Superglue, going back to the previous page, you have once again misquoted me (I think thats the third time youve done it now).I never said kerrys victories were tainted.
In my original post,I simply said that this Kerry team have never won an all Ireland final after a battle, that their 4 victories were very straightforward.I think everyone knew that if Dublin were within a point of kerry going into the last 5 minutes of the AI final this year that they would have a massive chance of winning.
I wasnt slagging off Kerry,or saying that their victories were tainted/meaningless,I just said that in the four finals that they won,the opposition played poor (and of course kerry played well too).Surely you agree with that.

Theroad I get what you're saying. I'm just reading it differently. No harm done.

Tom1916 I was nearly headed north myself the next morning and I in no fit state to do so.
That was 10 fast years.

TheRoad, surely the 2009 victory over Cork was a battle? I know Cork wilted a bit in the second half but they were ground down by the sheer will of our lads on the day, and it was a very physical game.

Well OK cute kerry hoor, the 2009 final was far more competitive than the others I mentioned, but I think that Cork wilted as soon as they got the goal and went 5 points uo,which was quite strange.

All-Irelands are not just won on a single day in September, it's a hard journey during the course of any given year. Yes, some of the finals that Kerry won were not as competitive as we all would have liked to see. However, Kerry earned those All-Irelands.............

2004 - two ferociously tough games against Limerick in Munster

2006 - huge battle with Armagh
2007 - tough Munster Final with Cork, two instense matches against Monaghan and Dublin

2009 - tough games with Sligo, Antrim and Cork in the Final

Very true. Limerick put it up to us in '04, that stood to us as well. IN '06 Armagh were very much strong as there was all talk of Kerry not being able to be a northern team. Star's goal was the moment of that year and that hard victory put us on our way.
'07 after that tough provincial final was followed by two tough game on route to the final. Those tough games stood to us in the final. There's been a pattern where tough tests have stood to us in All-Ireland finals.

Is the criticism that Kerry win their matches by too much and when they lose they don't lose by enough? Yeah that's an awful quality for a team to have...

Sure I know that Wayno :)

For the most part there is great respect for Kerry on this forum, but there are one or two who just like to focus alot of negativity towards Kerry football.......and towards Dublin also.

There is indeed great respect for Kerry and Dublin on HS and in the country generally but they are not above criticism either as some like to think. Some Kerry/Dublin fans and commentators think that both are beyond reproach and that no one, especially from the weaker counties, has a right to an opinion which is arrogant nonsense. The fact is that Kerry, especially in Ulster where they used to be eulogised, lost a lot of respect in the way some of the county, and some former players, reacted to the Armagh and Tyrone defeats. There was an air of 'how dare these upstart Nordies' come down here and challenge the status quo and every excuse under the sun was wheeled out. "Too physical, puke football, too much handpassing, swarm defenses, going beyond the rules etc etc". Larry Tomkins wrote an article in the old Sunday Tribune after the 2003 All Ireland between Tyrone and Armagh when he castigated those in the South who were pasting Ulster football continually; he said it was nothing but partitionist begrudgery. There was a real nasty atmosphere towards Northern football which has left a bitter taste with some Ulster Gaels and much of this eminated from Kerry and Dublin based GAA media people. Then when the wheels were turned and people started to dissect Kerry and the reasons they lost those finals there was howls of protest from the Kingdom and those GAA journalists who fawn over them. Dublin went 16 years without an All Ireland and they went through some tough times and defeats but once again since September some fans, officials and Dublin GAA journalists have once again adapted the high horse and arrogant Dublin attitude towards the GAA, other counties and fans. You see some Dublin GAA people talk about breaking away and keeping all the money that Dublin generates and the Leinster jersey stuff was just rubbish. Indeed Kerry and Dublin are great counties but they need to understand that not everyone worships at their altar and that there are 30 other GAA counties many who are struggling to keep county teams going. They need to look at their own behaviour and realise how it can anger and annoy other Gaels.

Kerry have been the best team in the country for the last few years.
by Dublin (who needed to win an AI, to keep the media and GAA rolling in it!) with the help of some ridiculous calls by the referee!
Reminds me of 1995! I particularly love to see Dublin beaten, mainly because of the manu fans in disguise who fill the hill.
Don't hate Dublin, they have some true gaels, love to see them silenced!

PJ If you are taking solace and delight in a young, very fit, hungry and mainly single Dublin side beating a tired, old, injury prone, mostly married with kids, 3 times All Ireland Champions Tyrone good on you. Well done Dublin but they didn't win SAM, Kerry threw it away.

Same thing dave surely?? I also believe Tyrone were doing the early morning January starts 10 years ago that Dublin are doing now. It's easier when you are young, maybe studying and single; far harder when you are in your late 20's/30's, have a full time job, 2/3 kids and a wife......and 3 All Ireland medals in the bag already.

I still dont know where the idea of Kerry being cocky before the All Ireland came from. Because people said they were going to win thats being cocky is it?

moomoo im not refering to all what was said before the match me personally i think that was all bull if you ask me and dont get me wrong either ive alot of respect for kerry i was saying in the last 10 mins or so of the match when kerry did pull away they had there chance to finish off dublin, now this is were i think they got cocky and lacked focus and so this is why they got caught out and gave dublin the chance to come back imo anyway....
