Kildare will win Leinster

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I simply had to know what this guy was going on about so I took the liberty of looking it up

He's referring to 5 finals that took place in 1929, 1936, 1938, 1946 & 2003 (God bless Wiki)

1929? 36? etc etc exactly what relevance or reflection is any of this on the current Kildare/Laois teams?

You know lilywhites, you could tell this guy to cop himself on but it wouldn't do any good so you should probably just play him at his own spiteful little game, in case you need a helping hand:

Kildare have 13 Leinsters, Laois have 6 BOO HOO HOO!

Kildare have 4 All Irelands, Laois have NONE BOO HOO HOO!

(Wexford have 5 All Irelands & 10 Leinsters by the way)

:-D :-D :-D

First of all it's blatantly obvious that the Mayo man who started this is on a wind up. And no amount of pleading innocence will change that. Its plain to see he thinks his team has a chance of going close this year and he's attempting to divert all the attention off Mayo. Poor effort paddy.

Perhaps if the title of the thread was Kildare could win Leinster it would be more credible.

The order in lesinter at the moment is

Dublin
Wexford
Kildare
Meath
Louth
Westmeath
Wicklow/Laois/Carlow/Longford/Offaly

Thats only my opinion. And yes I do believe Laois are back that far. I saw them in Portlaoise last year and they were awful. No game plan, no leaders and no kahunas. They might improve again if they get of the prima donna attitude thats around for several years.

PS While its obvious Dublin are No. 1, I hope snuff and clondalkinlilly and those of their ilk take note that other people don't mind giving Dublin the credit they deserve. Pity ye wouldn't take a leaf out of that book. Little apples and all that.

Is the Horse a reincarnation of Barney legend? Similar modus operandi anyhow.

They are also right up thre with Galway in my eyes to win the All Ireland.

Well that sounds extremely promising...

Can we win Leinster? Yes. Will we? Probably not.

And can somebody please inform Clondalkindub of this thread immediately, he'll have a field day.

No Horse, I'm not fighting any battles, I'm just being factual and showing your comments up for the childish display of stupidity they are whether you're from Kildare, Laois or anywhere else

McGeeney has done a very good Job with Kildare,I'm not sure if the lillies would agree, but, you really feel they have to win something soon.

Dublin/Meath will have improved squads in 2012 - what are Kildare bringing to the table? I think they are mentally knackered... and I think Geezer should have left.

In my opinion he's failed as Kildare manager - and I think that's the main reason why he stayed on. He's stubborn and there's nothing fresh about that…

Honestly, slagging aside, I still believe in McGeeney. Yes he made some mistakes last year, Kildare fans know that better than anyone. But I think with a combination of players returning from injury(Mikey Conway, Peter Kelly, Dermot Earley, Ken Donnelly) and a number of promising Under 21's (just one or two from Eoin Doyle, Tommy Moolick, Kevin Feely, Sean Hurley, Cian Reynolds, Liam McGovern, Cian Bolton, Padraig Fogarty, Darroch Mulhall, Fionn Dowling) and then the players who made it to the All-Ireland junior final last year Kildare will still be improving from last year.

Will all that be enough to win Leinster? Maybe not, Dublin reached a level of performance this year that this group of players have never matched. Do we have the potential to finally put it all together on the big day? Definitely.

Kildare have a great chance of taking Leinster.

I hope they do, it would be a shame for this group of players not to have something to show for all their efforts under McGeeney.

I'd have to agree with you there ziggy32001, there will be internal pressure on to win something this year.

I think kildare will have to win leinster this year especially after the past few seasons disappointments if not i feel mc geeny reign will come to an end. There wasnt much between them v donegal or down just a kick of a ball really or a bit of luck to go there way.Kildare has improved vastly under mc geeney and arent far away.

think your right there vintage..a lot of meath and dublin and probably a few other posters think kildare should of put away teams and lost..but the fact is kildare have only ever lost by a point or two at the most and as you said with a bit of luck kildare arent that far away..second favourites for leinster and 12/1 for sam..when you think about what mcgeeney has done besides the point of silverware there was a good spell there that kildare were been kicked out of the championship and quailifiers first and second round..geezer has brought them to four quarters and a semi..i used to go to matches hoping to win teams and kildare werent feared.. i now go to matches thinking we should win or at least we have a great chance we can now put it up to any of the best a lot of teams now dont want kildare in the draws..going from them dire straits to that i thank geezer for it..and believe he is only a good thing for kildare..

Horse while you are looking at the history books take a look at the last 16 years which will have more relevance, in that period we played you 6 times in the Championship proper of which you won 3 and we won 3 and the total scores were Kildare 6 - 72 and Laois 6 - 66. As for bottle, in that period as far as I can ascertain, Laois contested 4 Leinster Finals and won one whereas Kildare contested 5 and won 2. So explain the "bottle" thing to me please.

And Coylers Elbow so you're going to put manners on us this year? You got two chances last year and one in 2010 so what happened?

i dnt no how someone can put the teams in order like this. i do agree maybe over the last few years dublin have been better than kildare and kildare have beaten meath over th last year or two but meath could beat dublin anyday imo, i think we may be one of the only teams in leinster who dont fear the dubs. i also think that meath, dublin and kildare would all beat wexford so i dont know why wexford would be put infront of kildare and meath and i dont think you could actually say who would be the best team in leinster as kildare have difficulty beating dublin, meath find it hard to beat kildare but then dublin always find it tough to get over meath.

I think kildare have been playing very well at times and are getting better but dont forget the other team are progressing too meath will be itching for them too and if dublin reach the final which imo i think they will i cant see dublin losing to kildare i honestly think dublin are a far stronger and fitter but as i said before kildare have to get by meath first...........
