See it more and more alternative artists getting involved with this x-factor drival. It's like making a deal with the devil and is everything that is bad about music these days.
Was a fan of Biffy Clayro, Florence and the Machine and now I see our own Damien Rice has signed up with them, If they were really in it for the music they'd stay well away for that x-factor crap.... sell outs in my view it's not like they need the money.

Its easy marketing, thousands of young impressionable young people watch the X-Factor every week and if an artist preforms on the show or participants preform one of their songs the top artists like biffy clyro, f+ the machine make loads of very easy money

You're spot on with that one. The music industry is riddled with occult symbols.

That Frankie cocopops ruined it for me, every song he covered was a fav of mine until he murdered them. My Daughters all wanting Amelia lily to win , but how can someone come into a competition more than halfway through the process, yes shes a great singer but its unfair on the contestants/puppets as she is fresh and people not sick of her as of yet, FixFactor is good old family Saturday night tv but anybody hoping to be the next Lady Ga Ga or Michael Buble is in for a shock. Simon has millions in the bank because of people looking their Andy Warhol moment, also the rules keep changing as the show nears its long overdue end. Prize money depending how many records you sell in year one....... ask Andy the Bin man or Michelle McManus.

if a singer-songwriter like damien rice feels the need to go onto xfactor then he's a sell-out. completely the wrong idea of how to communicate ideas. xfactor is destroying everything about music. followed by mindless zombies. commercialized manufactured s**t

I'm sure the cheque will soften the blow for Damien Rice
As for the x-factor finishing up maybe it will but Cowell will fill that prime time slot with something similar his company has that slot sewn up and I doubt he is going to give it up too easily he has made millions for ITV and vice-versa and thats all that matters in that industry

Check out this sweet little lady great cover of a classic song .
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJuwdcQlT1g&ob=av2e
this is how you follow you dream through hard work and a little imagination the use of social media also helps but you have to have the X Factor as well which she has unlike the wannabe Lady Ga Ga's or Tina Turner impersonators López has been composing songs since the age of seven and in her teenage years performed in a number of bands with her friends. In 2007 Anni started to perform as a solo artist and word of her spread amongst music fans through MySpace. In 2008 she was signed by Subterfuge Records, Spain's biggest independent label, with whom she released her debut album Start, Restart, Undo the following year.

Every few years something is "ruining" music. Imo Xfactor can't ruin music as it doesn't have anything to do with it.
Xfactor doesn't matter. People will continue to write good music and play live.

Spot on there are plenty of singer/songwriters out there playing and creating good stuff, even yer one Janet said it was crap. But there is some shocking drivel on it, as for the squealling mayo man on the show what else would you expect.

it doesnt have anything to do with music, as its not music in the true sense of the word. its souless rubbish. but it is getting released into the charts with real music, which in turn is pushing down original classics by up and coming bands which the masses will never be exposed to. so the general public are losing out on so much good music, and instead forced to listen to x-factor runners up playing some sob version of hallelujah or run. these "musicians" arnt there on merrit, they are there because 12 year old girls see them on tv and are brainwashed by the hype and buy it regardless if its good or not. real musicians are quitting as they arnt making any money anymore. xfactor and similar products are ruining music

No-ones forced to watch it or listen to its output.
Also the charts have usually been pretty bland in anyways without Xfactor. Take any weekly chart going back years and you'll find an awful lot of rubbish beside the classics.
There's a lot of good music out there man and with the internet its never been easier to access it or hear of it. The days of relying on the radio or the charts for new and exciting music is over man, and it has been for about a decade.

Who actually has made it big after FixFactor Leona Lewis sold millions of Albums and also made her name in the US the rest have been pretty poor, JLS do well around Britain selling out venues to screaming teenagers each Christmas. Rebecca Ferguson will have a great career but I can't see her becoming a Whitney Huston but a great soulful voice my Fav .

Music these days is absolute s€€€e. The Coronas, Rihanna, and The Black Eyed Peas amongst others should be locked away for life. As for the Xfactor muppets, thank god most of them disappear after their 5 minutes of fame.

i acknowledge no ones forced me to listen to it and it dont. but its impossible to aviod. chilling out flicking through music channels its there, flick on the radio and every channel is playing that rubbish, open the paper its there, turn on a chat show they're being interviewed. ffs, turn up at croke park for a match and you'll probably have to sit through jedward. wheather i do or dont listen to it isnt the point.
yes the charts always have been full of alot of rubbish but there was still always quality bands in there getting radio play and exposure. flick through the charts now and its ALL x-factor contestants and that manufactured r&b rubbish from america. its got to a point where its just taking the piss. so ye, go to the internet. dig out a few modern day bands with good music that they've wrote themselves. only problem is, two weeks later they've probably packed it in because they're getting nowhere and no ones listening to them. xfactor, american idol, britain got talent etc ARE ruining music wheather you want to continue to make excuses for it or not

Well X-Factor definitely ruined 'Run' by Snow Patrol. A brilliant, gritty, almost brutal song taken by X-Factor, rinsed of all quality and sentiment and chucked out a banal, dire cover version to be sacrificed at the alter of money and fame. And there will be plenty of other songs like it.
