dubby,

An old saying I made up just now is one you will do well to remember:

""Even the smallest Dub, is still the master of all men!!""

These are amatuers. This is getting more and more surreal, if the game (any game) is infringing so much on players lives who play for just love of game/club/county then they should be paid, because unless they are that agreement is worthless.

Maybe mentors need to get a little more thick skinned.

If the question is genuine then the answer is yes that was the basis for McGuinness asking Cassidy to leave the panel.
I'm not sure that consideration needs to be money to make a contract enforeceable..in any case this won't be tested in a court of law.
The point I was making is that within a squad agreements/covenants are made within a squad to ensure a unity of purpose.
I'm not from Donegal but know enough about the county to know that it has been dogged with disciplinary and mistrust over the years. This was an attempt to address that among others - it acheived results Donegal were the most unified team from the county in decades.
You may claim such agreements are draconian if you like but if you sign the agreement you are in assent with its contents.
As for thick skinned managers..Cass wasn't the first to fall foul of these codes/agreements...if managers don't enforce them what's the point?

Exactly! what nonsense this all is. There is some right stupid stuff creèping into gaa and this epitomises it. Anyone going to a kk hurling training this year saw their drills etc but the still won. Its only an excuse by those who fall to a better team. They ll be making higgins walk on the grass in next years final for a mntal advantage!!

It's no surprise it took the Dublin Mafia Posters to ruin this otherwise engaging thread.

Read this morning that Cassidy and his wife have also been omitted from the team holiday to the states. Flights and hotel cancelled. If is true its shameful and disgraceful treatment of the guy
