Agree - good post Seany..well the '95 thing was up for dispute until we settled it about a month back in O'Neill Park.

Meant to ask...bet it still feels good on the top of that tree...beginning to forget that feeling but not the memory

Both will be massive losses to Tyrone - always thought McGuigan had that touch of class and his performance in 2005 final was major factor in Tyrone winning that day.

both 3 all ireland medals they will be a big blow to tyrone and a massive loss to the game both lads such a presence on the the field to win balls and games so unbelieveable and although they were apart of a thorn in the dubs side at one stage i think many of us will miss the presence of them and the excitement they brought on the field
ALL THE BEST WISHES LADS IN THE FUTURE....

Good solid division 2 players in a good solid division 2 team. On their day they may have been able to break into the Mayo squad and praise doesn't get much higher than that

By the way you were talking you'd swear they would make it into the Kerry team.

Good post seany 16... begrudgery sadly is one of the byproducts of success in the GAA.

Both players were superb players who led Tyrone with distinction and were part of a team that I admired greatly. I hope that they are not lost to football and will retain an involvement in some form with their county.

We all respect them great tyrone players but the fact is it will be a long time til we see tyrone produce players of that standard again. If tyrone think there's all irelands coming in the next ten years they are kidding themselves.

Wow clondalkindud, your indepth knowledge of the underlying strength of Tyrone football is impressive indeed, I shall look forward to ramming your post down your throat in the not too distant future. Be afraid, be very afraid.

Sad to see them go - legends,
but at 31 i thought they would give it one more year, but they have nothing to prove = won everything in a county not used to sucess in the year that they were born.........

It does however have to be said that these were two great footballers but ones who sullied their reputations by being two of the keenest exponents of the cynicism and unsportsmanlike conduct that Tyrone excelled at. Few Dublin fans will forget McGuigan's incessant verbal abuse of our freetakers and constant whinging at referees to seek cards for innocuous fouls. You may say that's simply part of the game but it's a part of it we could do without and while Tyrone were hardly the only ones to indulge in this caper, I do honestly believe that they were the first team to employ such behaviour as a preplanned tactic to intimidate opponents. I will always remember Jordan and McGuigan as being archetypal of that Tyrone team - tough and skilful but seriously lacking in class.

Incredible how myopic some fans can be...cynism?? Remember Heffo's teams - I do.
Have you heard the foul count Dublin v Tyrone and the positions the fols were committed.

All the best to Dublin on their great year but get real and open your mind and eyes.

Sad to lose such talent in one go. Can also see McMenamin retire. Disappointing to witness the churlish Kerryman on the tread. Still rankles eh?

So true...of course generalisations are dangerous but to have won so much with so little genorosity..dissapointing.
Some say that's what has made them successful...not sure about that.
