1047440 Sure last year Fennell transferred to Vincents and the majority of Dublin posters were telling us that there was nothing wrong with it as far as they were concerned. What's the difference between that case and this? Neither of them are playing for the clubs they grew up with.
the differance with fennell joinging o tooles and mortimer joining parnells is simple its funny how we always hear country guys go on about the parish the parish the parish but yet we have an armagh a wexford and several laois guys and now mayo lad all joining a club in dublin who have not won anything in years but have come into money

Fennell is different he wanted to move to have more success still dont think that was right but he wasn't moving for money! Now as has been pointed out Parnells haven't won anything for years but now lads are joining them so again it may have to be looked at. Now Parnells aren't the only team who do it Bishopstown in Cork have been doing for the last few years also alot of Kerry lads have been joining them in the last few years and have had little success. Kerins O Rahillys in Tralee have been doing it too for a long time

How is it different?? Conor was offered a job. He took it, as i guess he couldnt go back to college for the 12th year... His work is in Dublin and he still wants to play football. He's hardly going to come home every tuesday, friday and sundays for training. Not to mention the pool sessions on a monday and the weights wednesday night. Hence, he joins a club close to where his job and house is. Of all the latest transfers, this is the one that makes the mst sense.

Yes but do you not find it odd that he's offered a job with the club hes about to join? If he plays with Mayo next year he'll have to travel back there for training anyway

So you'd rather he joined a really successfull club like Kilmacud and work for someone involved in Parnells? Id rather a lad left Rhode club for a team in Dublin if it involved getting a job instead of moving to Kilmacud just for the sake of it.
in all fairness he doesn't tackle, chase back, kick with his right foot and can only kick points from within 20 metres. with mj tierney there i dont think he has much to offer really.

There was a lot of disquite in Dublin GAA about that transfer. I wouldn't say that what you read on here was representative.
This is a stupid post. The man got a job in Dublin so he is transferring clubs closer to where his new job is.... How many people have left Ireland to UK, America, Oz ect to get a new job and decided to transfer clubs? He is going where the work is, if the club offered him a job if he would play with them, then so what? He needs the work and he is playing football... What wrong with this?? I was in America before on the J1 and I was offered a job if I was to play with a certain club. So what?
