Omaghredhand knows what he is talking about, unlike clondalkindub. I think you can all see the point he is making, but for wahtever reason, don't like it.

Does the Omagh in his name not give that away? Let me guess, you're from Clondalkin?

Joe is finished? Where have I said that? My debate is with omaghredhand who said Joe mcmahon is a better footballer than Sean cavanagh.

1049552 My god will someone from tyrone tell this fella to stop talking .... Please

Clondalkin - This Omagh fella is promoting the McMahons because they both play for his club team - Omagh. He is also prob feeling a bit down now as Omagh were just put out of the Tyrone Club Championship by Dromore so his Club loyality is blinding him.

Your right Cathal, very down today, but well beaten no complaints. However, I can assure you it's not blind loyalty or whatever. I have given the reasons for my views, unlike yourself or Clondalkin. You'll find that I am a wee bit above the parochial crap that has decimated the standard of club football in Tyrone

1049553 Clondalikndub - Joe McMahon plays for omaghredhands club - therefore is blindly biased. Take no notice.

Such a stupid statement. I have given reasons for my opinions unlike you or Clondalkin. That being the case, I should take no notice of what you or any Dub has to say on Dublin because you are blindly biased. We're not all 16 year olds you know

In fairness to Clondalkin Dub it was the little pea from Kildare who said he was finished.

So ConnollyDub, give me the reasons why you think that Sean is a better footballer, maybe Clondalkin might give one or two reasons as well!!

I would say for sure that Joe McMahon is more reliable than Cavanagh as Joe always tries his best. Sean on the other hand has a good game now and again and sometimes looks a bit like his heart isnt in it.

Omagh I don't need to give reasons I've watched cavanagh for the last decade and the man is pure class. Joe is a good solid footballer no doubt but is not in the same league as Sean. Let's agree to disagree cause its going nowhere now.

I couldn't agree more with Mickey Harte. Year after year after year we see the 3/4 of the nominations chosen from the hype of the All Ireland finals and semi finals. Those responsible for this seem to lack a professonal approach and dont seem to look beyond their nose. And even there, this year their lack of professionalism is obvious in their nominations. What did Dublin players do more than Kerry this year to earn 12 against 9. Obviously it's just because they won the A.I.....and in that final there was not a kick of a ball between those two teams. Very interesting indeed will be the choice of goalie. It just cannot be Stephan Cluxton, who could make it as a forward !!!!!!

I'm not trying to agree with you nor am I expecting you to agree with me. You said you were debating with me, and unless the process has changed, in a debate you negate the others view with reasons to disprove it not simply say you're wrong because I say so. I watch Sean play at least a dozen times a year and see him outside of the county set up the same with McMahon and I know who I would have first on the team sheet.

Just as an aside although not a born and bred defender, Joey has kept Sean scoreless in the last two club games they have played against other, letting him out for air every so often

Go dtí an chéad uair eile

Mate you can say mass for all I care it won't change the fact that Joe mcmahon wouldn't lace Sean cavanagh boots. I wouldn't mind the last two years Bernard brogan has absolutely destroyed Joe mcmahon. Ask any other county what tyrone player they fear most and I'm convince 95 per cent will say Sean cavanagh. I can't believe I'm still talking about this when everyone knows who the better player is.

There's no doubt that Sean Cavanagh has left a greater legacy within Tyrone GAA than either of the McMahons. And unfortunetely for you Omaghredhand, there can be no denying that. The Gaelic Football fans across Ireland will remember Cavanagh as one of the icons of Tyrone GAA 2002-2011. They will remember the McMahons as very good players but they will be well down the list - behind McMenamin, Gormely, Jordan, O'Neill, Canavan, Cavlan, Mulligan, McGuigan and Cavanagh.

Now admittedly, Cavanagh's form dipped after his heroics in 2008 and I would even say that both McMahons were Tyrone's best performers in the years since and if that's the argument you are making, then I would have no problem agreeing. But I think you are saying that Joe McMahon has made a bigger contribution to Tyrone than Cavanagh? And this is simply not true.

I'd also argue that Cavanagh has been one of the most adaptable players in terms of playing position - ever! The idea that he lacks the versatility of McMahon is extremely harsh.
