i wouldnt go as far as to say at least half of the corwds were from other countys,as only kildare and donegal brought more then 10 thousand to any of them games and in the league games was 95% dublin supporters in croker

also kickpass i dont agree about you saying a simple resolution is join a club, having been in clubs for years its ok getting tickets for early rounds of championship games but come the semi final or final itself they dont give the paeople who were attending all year the tickets, the parnell park pass is by far the best option for dublin supporters,130 euro guaranteed ticket for all championship games, free entry to league games and free entry to all club championship games.

Thykingdomcome:

Apologies for suggesting that you were only happy with the system because you had got a ticket, you are happy with it regardless and that's fair enough.
I've a different viewpoint and we'll agree to disagree.
Obviously the place won't be packed with Neutrals as most tickets will make their way into the hands of the competing counties followers.
The problem as another poster pointed out, is that the don't make them back in a fair way in my opinion.
It's more a case of the fella who knows the Chairman of Club X in Roscommon or Club Y in Donegal or the fella who is well connected in work that will get the ticket sometimes ahead of the fella who has went to every game and will be stuck for a ticket through a lack of these connections.
It's just that your posts came across as quite smug although reading your subsequent posts leads me to believe this was probably unintentional.

PS, I hope you hold on to your ticket down Jones Rd and enjoy the Final ;)

sorry I exaggerated the point. Your right, Dublin were more than half of the crowd in their NFL and Championship games. I thought they did a wonderful job in promoting their home league matches. And your right that the Parnell Park Pass and the GAA season ticket are the best options if you regularly go to Inter-County matches.

The point I was really making was to encourage fans in what ever county to join their local club as well as going to the inter-county matches. I live in North County Dublin and am a member of the local club which sadly is struggling for members. (Before you ask I didn't take a ticket from the club. In fact I put two I got from home into the clubs distribution).

The system we have at the moment is the best available to us and was indeed copied by the engliosh fa for their fa cup allocation,

1. every club that plays gealic football in the WORLD gets 4 tickets - alot of these filter back
2. every secondary school that plays gaelic football in ireland and england gets 1/2 tickets
3. each third level institution gets 3 tickets
4. every player on an intercounty panel gets 2 tickets
5. the handball/rounders/camoige get a few tickets
6. tipperary minors get 6,000 tickets

now there was only one full house this year and donegal took 35-40,000 supporters to that game
1. dublin have the biggest support but there was ver few full houses,
2. how many kerry people went to their limerick or mayo games,
3. ticketmaster is not the answer - those who get on first will get them

I'll be there but we sent the rest of our allocation to a dublin gaa club

all tickets should be on ebay, this ensures those most deserving get tickets and those who dont well who actually cares about them. i mean 82k tickets and if you cant get one well then you are doing something wrong. enaby is the bst possible method, its doesnt discrimiate it give tickets to those most deserving and what better why to fdo it than through bidding- its perfect, but alas in ireland basic concept of supply and demand are wasted on the idiots!

thats a rubbish point about secondary schools and people in england getting tickets why do they deserve tickets please tell me,as i believe the people who go and support there county all year are the ones who deserve to go to support there county in the final, why should third level instituations get tickets thats ridiculous.
there may have only been 1 full house this year but i dontknow where your getting your numbers from about donegal that day,yes they had a big support but was nowhere near 35-40 thousand, more like 20-25 thousand ,whats wrong with people getting onto ticketmaster first and getting them that shows they are the ones who are willing to get up and q and really want to go.

Jayuss lad what your problem I was only answearing the ladies question, again if we had 500,000 supposeid supporters and were playing the match in thurles think we'd be fairly much garenteed a sell out, also Tipperary didn't send back tickets in fact looked for more.

Hurlingdub:
Aye I have alright sick of listening to the same ould rubbish all over again and it looks like the bandwagon windbag brigade are rowing support in behind the hurlers too, they start giving true blues like yourself a bad name

Goodman gloryhunter. A shaking of hands is in order. It does crack me up generally complaints about the ticket system but now that I look at it this year in particular there is an issue. Purely because so many Dubs want to go and they will feel that people attending from other counties shouldn't have the right to attend ahead of them. I suppose it's the unfortunate side of coming from so heavily populated county. They will hjave unbelievable support and will outnumber us 4 or 5 to 1 yet, still, not all of them will be able to get a ticket. Like I said this problem doesn't arise on any other final occasions when other counties are involved.

As regards, being smug, I'm not. Certainly not the week before a big match. No way. I could easily be walking out of Croker on Sunday with my head in my hands. I do think we are favourites though. Our midfield is underrated, our backs are taking a right grilling in the press which will give them a point to prove against an excellent forward line but in particular the shear brilliance of Cooper and Declan which can, on it's day, win any match and gives us a huge advantage. I do like to have the odd poke at the dubs though and sometimes that gets mixed up in my more serious posts. It's what we do down here eventhough most of us like the dubs. I Would not begrudge them a deserved All Ireland (Someday) not (Sunday). They're well able to stand up for themselves.

i am someone to croker on sunday under strict instruction to wait until less than 30 mins before kickoff before selling two lower hogan tickets (Much appreciated Bank of Ireland) my dilema is why price should i let them go for, Im of the opinion that he should rip them up if he doesnt get any less than a grand for the pair. if there are any true supporters they wouldnty mind paying. my 4 premium level tickets have shoched me how well they went on ebay, it just shows that there is plenty of money in the economy

Serious ballboy...Have you got no life....I met more mature people in the local creche...And that wasn't the staff...I know you love winding people up...but you're getting pretty laborious at this stage...On another note, (I am not a season ticket holder), but that makes me no more deserved of a ticket then anybody else..and what about the people who couldn't afford one...being a member of a club doesn't guarantee a ticket....I'ts people like me who keep Croke Park open in the first place...(and I don't need a map to show me the way to Parnell Park either)...

I'm not saying the season ticket corporate box thing, I'm saying the season ticket you pay 75 euro for which gets you all the league matches and first round of the championship and a ticket if you want it for the rst of the matches a 5er cheaper. If you then go to over 60% of all the mathes your are garenteed a ticket if your team goes to the final.... it's not an expense thing I'm a student at the moment and the season ticket worked out cheaper as I go to all league and championship games anyways.

I think the people that go to the games should get preference and the season ticket aims to do that if only for a small number of supporters!

Anyone looking a ticket should head to the Kilmacud sevens on saturday or any off the hotels around croke park on Saturday night/sunday morning. Usually a few spares to be had then.
