1019199 where does the 3 million euro or so gathered on sunday go,must be someboby having a good time
I have noticed a huge increase in the DUP MLAS Waistbands over the last year either the food for the folks up on the hill is very tasty and generous or there expenses are even more generous p.s. seen wee mcCray in O'Neills sportsstore in Magherafelt yesterday wondering if he was buying a Donegal jersey ? or maybe as they do Rugby gear aswell he might be getting an Ireland rugby shirt............
Its definitely not a Donegal jersey anyway fortyfive.... I saw him walking down the main street in Lifford at the weekend with one on him.... unless he was buying one for wee Willie....!!

OK,festinog,I'll stop(except for one post).I detect a note of exasperation in you which it was not my intention to evoke. Its just that I have these hopes and dreams that things can be done differently and more efficiently. Yes,for twenty years,I was at various times, chairman, secretary and treasurer of a GAA club in Britain.I walked the mean old streets organising socials in parish halls, race nights, raffles. I couldn't do a raffle/lottery now because i would be aware that I'm just selling a piece of paper with numbers on it and the nebulous chance that at a future date the number might come up.In other words accepting money for something of little intrinsic value. These mini-busineness' offer an exciting alternative. You make a valid point that the GAA is not a business.Yet if a person set up a petrol station (say) and donated all the profits to a GAA club, what has that got to do with the central organisation?. I suspect there are mangers in every county scratching around for business'which might employ some of their players who might otherwise have to emigrate. The renting of Croke Park has elements of business. These business'cost virtually nothing to run.I run one of them myself. In the last fortnight i raised 600 euro for a local event. Now I'm not looking for praise, just the opportunity to show that it can be done.If I could have persuaded a number of like-minded people to form a team we would have achieved much more. Due to internet protocols there are elaborations I cannot make on a forum such as this. I would be delighted however,if these few suggestions struck a chord somewhere around the country. John F Kennedy (or someone)said : "Some men see things as they are.............and ask why? I dream things that never were and ask........why not?" Why not indeed! Perhaps another day, another place.
