Should be an intriguing one alright and really looking forward to it. I would hardly say we came from nowhere in 1992 to win Sam though, we were beat in the Ulster Final replay of 1989, won Ulster in 1990, lost Ulster Final of 1991 to All-Ireland Champs Down before our run in 1992. We haven't had the same glamour in the past years up to this game but this is the start of a new era in Donegal!!

We're just going to make up the numbers, it will likely be very one-sided and the sway of public opinion and the media will be proved right. :)

Its really an injustice to football that Donegal are still involved at this stage of the competition. Dublin should win this one handsomely ideally using the game as a warm up for the final against Kerry in September...Mayo shouldn't be here either remember....like ourselves more a nuisance at this stage of the competition than anything. Dublin should in fairness try out some of the players on the panel who haven't gained much game time this year to date to ensure that the team to play in the final comes into that final as fresh as possible. Dublin to win by 18+ points.

Dublin will win this with a good bit to spare, ten points or more I'd say.

Interesting game in prospect here, both teams will feel they can make it to the AI final

Both teams have defended well in recent games, both can kick great points, both have beaten Tyrone! (Sorry Tyrone fans)

Donegal have shown a terrific ability to last the course and play the 70 minutes and extra time too while Dublin have a propensity to bottle it near the end of big games

I would say as long as Donegal are not over-awed or intimidated by the occasion, it is anyone's game

And Jim McGuinness, I really hope he doesn't bang on about disrespect from media/panellists/fans/whatever after the game, he's done too much of that & it takes the shine off a magnificent year for Donegal

My friend , Lifford was simply implying a bit of sarcasim banter there because everyone seems to have dublin as clear winners of this game already, Which i feel is absolute rubbish

Donegal will be twice , three times as hard as Tyrone and we will need to replicate saturdays performance to beat you guys.

Looking forward to clash of Donegal and Dublin, the Dubs may have played their best game of the year against Tyrone. I think Donegal have been more consistent this year, they have a strong mix of youth and experience and play well as a team. Keep the Brogans and Michael Donegal McCauley at bay, and Connolly will not play as well the next day and yes they are beatable. One swallow never made it a good summer, even in early August. Domination is coming and your all to blind to see it. I told tyrone last week that dublin are taking over and going to dominate the gaa for years to come and I'm yelling donegal the same thing, so be afraid be very afraid were coming to get you.

This is going to be very hard to call, Dublin have improved in the last few weeks since the Leinster Final no doubt but I still in no way believe that they are as good as was percieved against Tyrone as the Dublin forwards had the freedom of Croke Park all around them, the Tyrone defence lacked the basic necessary speed for this level of football and were unable to make any meaningful tackles. Donegal's defensive plan has been there for all to see this year and it has worked very well for them, now they face a more potent forward line than what they have faced before but they won't fear Dublin and Jim McGuinness will be precision personified in his preperation for this game. Just as in 2002 this may require a second game, Dublin will be favorites but Donegal have every chance.

i think Dublin peaked for the Tyrone game they may not be able raise their
game against DONEGAL Dublin fans seem to be getting carried away because
they played well in one game I think Donegal will shade it by 2 points

Ah Clondalkin dub give it over, everyone who follows gaa knows that Aug 28th wont be no walkover for the dubs, foolish to think otherwise, lets just take one game at a time. Focus on the next game and nothing else...we put in a great performance on Sat, was well worth getting soaked for, but we are not great at remaining consistent throughout the championship..lets hope the lads can keep the momentum going. They need to stay focused and forget about whatever hype is thrown at them. They have it in them to win, but never underestimate any team that gets this far. Cause that's just asking for trouble...!!! Hopefully The Dubs can do it..!!! I think they will...

loyalroyal u certainly are a special one, dublin play a defensive game is that right??scoring 22 points and 19 FROM PLAY,not including the number of goal chances!stick to planting veggies in the garden.

no i agree that dublin are defensive. They just have 3 unreal forward who all clicked. Donegal have the exact same setup but for the fact that we run from defense instead of kicking long - and yet we're thought of as ultra defensive. I think that tactic both teams use is effective but they are both defensive. Hey the way i see it is the both win so who care.

As a donegal supporter i love the debate as jim always throws in a surprise or 2. The dubs are another step up but one we can get to i think.

Everyone says Tyrone used a blanket defense to win their first AI in 2003 and look at the scores they racked up that year!
