The party is well and truly over, with all the new revelations that teachers are actually going to have to do something that resembles a full time job into the future, the days of working a few hours each morning are well and truly behind us and I think we can all celebrate anything that will get us a little bang for our buck with teachers. Next we must rank them and pay them on their performance. We also must start up Summer school in this country, if a child is weak in primary school they should have an extra month in the Summer to catch up in a small group, these teachers are supposedly full time so I'm sure giving up one out of their 6 months real time holidays would be too much to ask would it? And before any of the teachers start harping on about the poor children, we all know that after 14 yeasr of schooling a child with a leaving cert is qualified and capable of doing absolutely nothing, it takes a few years in university to actually educate them to do anything worthwhile - so folks the joke is officially over and today I rejoice that the most under used, most overpaid, least value for money of our civil servants is finally getting their cummupance for years of literally taking the p out of the Irish people. liathroidboy (Mayo) - Posts: 4921 - 04/08/2011 12:58:12 1003254 Link 0 |

I shudder to think at what 'cummupance' might involve. whereangelsplay (Cork) - Posts: 240 - 04/08/2011 13:46:03 1003309 Link 0 |

No Mes Amis is correct, unless you're saying there's more than one 'Ireland'. whereangelsplay (Cork) - Posts: 240 - 04/08/2011 15:41:54 1003496 Link 0 |

I admire teachers. I wouldnt want to do their job. They have to put up with some appalling kids and really havent got much hope of controlling some. Tongo (UK) - Posts: 1795 - 04/08/2011 16:06:48 1003529 Link 0 |

This thread is very hurtful and disrespectful to teachers and is not nice. Everybody knows the effort and commitment teachers put in to their work. laflour (Cavan) - Posts: 528 - 04/08/2011 21:10:00 1003806 Link 0 |
