Ah stop 06 against Mayo has to be the worst day I've ever experience in croke park it still hurts today. How did we lose that match we were the way better team , just our luck for the first time ever q Mayo team came to croke park and couldnt miss. Best game ever was 77 semi final it had everything played by the two greatest ever football teams. clondalkindub (Dublin) - Posts: 9926 - 02/08/2011 16:11:32 1001726 Link 0 |
For me the best game i have ever seen for skill level and intensity is the Leinster hurling final of 1996 between Wexford and Offaly. The whole game is on you tube and was shown recently on All Ireland Gold on TG4, look it up it was a brilliant game. 890202 (Wexford) - Posts: 1278 - 02/08/2011 16:21:01 1001737 Link 0 |

For atmosphere and excitement the Armagh Kerry final in 2002 was one of the best matches I was ever at. marita (None) - Posts: 469 - 02/08/2011 18:51:00 1001959 Link 0 |
Without a doubt, the best football match I've ever seen was the 2005 all-Ireland final: Tyrone 1-16 Kerry 2-10. The standard of play was exceptional and it was played at a blistering pace with fierce intensity for the full 70 minutes. Gaillimh_Abu (Galway) - Posts: 1035 - 02/08/2011 20:52:08 1002069 Link 0 |

The best game by far was the 1994 Ulster Championship match Doire v An Dun. Reigning All-Ireland champions played Down in Celtic Park, glorious day, great players in both teams. Great physical game of football and the only downside was the result for me. This game would be closely followed by some of the Dublin v Meath encounters in Croke Park. 1984 Munster Hurling Final. The Cork and Waterford classic in 2004 was probably a better hurling game but it didn't have the level of tension because of the presence of the back-door. You can't beat a great knock-out hurling game and the atmosphere in Thurles in 1984 was beyond anything I have seen before or since in a GAA stadium. eviemonkey (Cork) - Posts: 308 - 03/08/2011 13:57:21 1002405 Link 0 |
Has to be Dublin V Mayo in 06, it had everything, Tyrone v Armagh all ireland semi final in 05 was pretty darn good as well. And people suggesting the Kildare v Donegal match? The first half of that game was the worst I had seen in a long time. A***pirate (Mayo) - Posts: 98 - 03/08/2011 14:11:35 1002419 Link 0 |

While I wouldn't for one minute say it's the best game ever, the excitement at the end of our match with Kildare the last day would be hard beat. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9819 - 03/08/2011 14:23:59 1002446 Link 0 |
