Dublin and Tyrone is a Massive Game

Jackeen and Clondalkin

Just wondering how many referees are going to be officiating on Saturday? Surley those on the Hill have all passed their refereeing assessment courses by now given the amount of whistles they possess....

hardly conduct fitting of the new footballing force within the GAA, but it wont matter after Saturday as you will have plenty of time to learn the rules ahead of next year....sure Dublin should be use to long winters by now as well.....

ENORYT.
WELL SAID KID , THATS THE THING THE ABUNDANCE OF TALENT IS BUSTING THROUGH , MICKEY WAS VERY PATIENCE BUT NOW IT IS PAYING OFF , I MEAN THEY WERE CALLING FOR HIS HEAD IN 2008 , THEY WERE SAYING AT THE START OF THE SEASON EITHER BRING THE YOUTH THROUGH OR MAYBE STEP A SIDE , THAT MAN KNOWS THE GAME INSIDE OUT , ONE THING ON SATURDAY WIN LOSE THE CURRENT CROP OF PLAYERS THAT ARE BEING INRODUCED ALONG WITH SOME OF THE MOST FINEST FOOTBALLERS WE HAVE SEEN IN THIS LAST TEN YEARS MAKE A EXCITING SQUAD , THAT HAS YET TO SEE THE POTENTIAL OF BOTH EXPLODING IN CROKE PK .. WE SHALL SEE I AM CONFIDENT , BUT NOT COCKY , I DO REALISE THAT DUBLIN HAVE A VERY GOOD SIDE , BUT THIS CURRENT SETUP THAT TYRONE HAVE ENGINERED IS VERY INTERESTING .

A. Thanks for the history lesson on Dublin and Tyrone GAA. It really wasn't necessary as I've been around long enough to have many highs and lows in Dublin in both codes. Come Saturday, none of that will matter. Look at what David did to Goliath last Sunday. Obviously Tyrone being such a superior team is Goliath.

B. You seem to confuse the Dublin players with Dublin/non Dublin media. Also, and I may be wrong here, but I've never heard a Dublin player chanting soccer style.

C. Out of curiosity, what hurling team do you support?

Very happy with the starting 15 tomaoo and we have cover for every position on the bench. I think we will win my only worry is the 4 week break but there's nothing we can do about that now. There's more pressure on them than us , they know if they lose Saturday then it's the end of there great team were as were only a young team starting out, we have years to go with this bunch of players , and trust me we will dominate for years to come.

I've looked at what this Tyrone team have to offer this saturday i see nothing to worry Dublin-Basically its the same team we beat last year with a few under 21 players throwing in to freshen things up during the summer.....Gormley /ricey will pick up the Brogans once that contest is sorted out were home and dry/pity O'Gara wasn't fit

I guess ourselves & Longford two teams that have come out of Div 4 have shown up Tyrone's back line scoring 1-14,0-15 v them but i feel the forward line should have enough to fall over the line v Dublin

Tyrone by one point.

Surley the David and Goliath biblical tale occurred long before Sunday????? If you are comparing like with like then how can Tyrone possibly be Goliath as you claim given the fact that the team have been virtually written off by all an sundry from the start of the year. AKA Dads Army, havent got the legs anymore or the hunger for that matter - the list goes on

we in Tyrone never doubted the teams ability as I have said before Tyrone have nothing more to prove. The soccer chanting boys in blue was a reference to the lunacy and pathetic songs sang on the sacred sod of croker in support of Dublin....

As this is a football thread it doesnt really matter what hurling team I support. Hurling in my opinion is the only game in town by a country mile but special events and games such as Saturday deserve to be scrutinised. All in good banter etc etc

May the best team win but then I hope you wish us well against Donegal

Think this has the potential to be the greatest game of gaelic football in years and really light up the championship. Cant describe how excited i am for this one. Think tyrone will sneak it but only after a tough 70 mins if not 90

Well said galballygael23 but am hoping it'll be the dubs that win :)

. Can Longford finally get some credit!! They beat Mayo last year in a Qualifier by a point!! Beat the Rossies comfortably in the league final. Maybe just maybe Tyrone did very well to come away with a victory from Pearse Park. All Ireland Champions Kerry only beat them by 4 in 2009 and All Ireland Finalists Down only beat them by 4 in 2010.

My Tyrone team to play Dublin on Saturday

Packie McConnell
Conor Gormley, Joe McMahon, Ryan McMenamin,
Sean O'Neill, Justy McMahon, Philly Jordan,
Kevin Hughes, Aidan Cassidy,
Peter Harte, Brian McGuigan, Kyle Coney
Stephen O'Neill, Sean Cavanagh, Owen Mulligan

Now Dublin bring it on - I know how you will love seeing our full forward line for the game in action epecially their reaction when scoring goals into the hill - REMEMBER Mugsy - quality reaction that day. Wasnt much chanting that day either......

That team wouldnt be far away although I would have Sean Cavanagh in for Kevin Hughes. I think Mark Donnelly has been excellant and we need his pace in full foward.
