Listen Guys!!! I was sitting in the front row of the stand and the same incident happened right in front of me. CLANCY SHOULD GET THE RED CARD NOT GORDAN - The linesman was asleep & ref wasn't much better - when he seen the confrontation happening - he should have intervened and it would never have happened!!!! Clancy was never touched - Gordan gave him a light shoulder - there was definately no contact with his jaw and then he fell to the ground like a sack of potatoes !!!! Referees need to put a stop to this and make an example of players and it might stop happening - FANS PAY INTO SEE FOOTBALL -

REMEMBER IF YOU WERE AT THE GAME, YOU'D REMEMBER CLANCY STICKING HIS HEAD INTO DANS, AND THAT PHOTO IS WHEN DAN FORCED BACK! NO HEADBUTT THERE! IF YOU'D ANY CONSCIENCE AT ALL YOU'D KNOW THAT DAN DID NOT DESERVE TO GET THAT RED!!!!

I`m a big fan of Dan Gordon and hope that he gets off for the 3rd round. In my opinion Clancy should be ashamed of himself!!!!!!!!!

Hi all,

I have a couple of claims from people indicating the timing of the incident so I have looked at the times on the images to put everything into perspective

Image 31 @ 19:59 40 sec (Clancy and Gordon square up)
Image 32 @ 19:59 41 sec (The supposed head butt)
Image 33 @ 19:59 46 sec (The ref splits them up)
Image 34 @ 20:00 10 sec (The red card)

Total time 30 seconds

Between Image 33 and 34 I ran from behind the goal line up the side line in anticipation of a yellow/red card - hence I dont have the images of Clancy's fall.

Regards,
Conor

Aw did u miss the Oscar winning fall! The funniest part was the choreographed movement of their Phsyio running onto the pitch! I think if you watched the Laois panel on the bench, it just verified that it was planned and contrived at half time! In my opinion, he outa be ashamed of himself- the GAA doesn't need "players" like him. The best place for him to be playing would be centre stage in his local community hall!!

Hang on here a minute. Are people actually trying to say that Clancy and Laois PLANNED to get Gordon sent off!!!! Are you mad in the head. Now I am a Down man but there is no way i would accuse a team of planning that. 'The choreographed movement of the physio', what are you on about. When anyone goes down the physio automatically jumps up to go to their aid. ITS THEIR JOB. Yes they may have been told to rile him up and see what happens, so what, that goes on all the time. But they certainly would not have told Clancy to drop after a head butt that did not happen.

Now i am certainly not condoning Clancys behaviour, it was discgraceful and should not be accepted.

Gordon will probably get off because he did only shoulder Clancy, although the two of them were head to head about 20 seconds previously.

Fair play Red admirable, saying Laois tried to get a player sent off is a very serious accusation to make. The photo's do show Dan with his head up against Clancy. Intent is as bad as actually doing it in the GAA so it was a fair red

Laoistownie dont get me on your side. The photo's shown were not for the incident where Gordon was sent off. They were from 30 seconds previos where the 2 players went head to head with 'that' photo being the last second of it. That was not the incident and you know it.

Gordon got sent off for what the ref though was a headbutt as Clancy went down holding his face. It was clear from the Sunday game that it was only a shoulder, and not even a shoulder to the face.

Just because i dont believe Laois planned this as some are saying doesnt mean Clancy didnt play act.

the gaa's disciplinary system is turning into a joke.it just seems that whether a player is guilty or not if he appeals enough times he gets off or gets a lighter sentence.if a highly trained and experienced ref makes a call to send someone off it should be upheld.there not there for the fun of it.
