Cork are Overrated

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I am not a big Cork fan but they are a wonderful team. It's not that they have a better defensive system/ attacking system than anybody else, it's just they have superior footballers in every area of the pitch. Yesterday was a masterclass. I would love to see them in against Donegal and show puke football wins nothing outside of ulster.

Cork were class yesterday, dont think Donnacha O'Connor missed anything yesterday, think Down should of played Dan Gordon in midfield and brought Ambrose Rodgers on earlier

Cork are not over-rated. This is a serious team and I would like to see them win the AI just to silence the doubters. No disrespect to anyone else but I think its a two horse race now Cork or Kerry.

Cork are a top side. I agree they are now overrated but thats what comes from winning an all-ireland. The scoreline against down flattered cork, similiar to the tyrone roscommon game today. The first half of cork and down was very even. Cork just managed to create goals on two occasions in the first half when they were completely on the back foot and that switched the momentum in their favour. Even at the start of the second, peter fitzpatrick had a goal chance that was well saved. That in my opinion was a match winning save, because, if that ends up in the net the game is back to a point and down get the momentum. But instead, quirke saved and in the next few minutes cork tagged on a few more points and that put the game beyond downs reach and the down team threw in the towel. Make no mistake, cork were deserved winners and certainly the better side, but, they've proved nothing by beating an injury strucken down team and in my opinion, they haven't got it in them to beat kerry in the championship and i think we might see a traditional kerry v dublin final.
