'Rory McIlroy and Darren Clarke arent failures.'

It has been a great few months for British golf, what's your point?

I dont know much about British golf, but Irish golf is thriving with people like Mc Ilroy and Clarke. They represented Ireland in the past afterall.

more people watch leinster and munster per year than they would watch any gaa team - thats not as bandwagon, thats just the most popular sport in the country, like it or hate it but you cant deny it, world cup coming too folks the obsession is only going to grow
Nice observation hs. Start a Rugby website.

I'm not a begrudger. Good luck to the rugby lads, I don't support them myself, and I've no interest in the sport, but I don't wish ill upon them. But surely you see the rank hypocrisy of the majority of the rugby 'supporters' in this country. As another person posted earlier, with rugby, it's not like soccer where people jump on the club bandwagon, it's a case of people who know nothing about the sport, and who previously didn't like it, suddenly declaring themselves to be fans. I just find the whole thing pitiful, that's all. There are genuine rugby fans in this country, and I'm sure both of them get very ticked off with all the bandwagoners as well.

seamus you been talking the same old crap for about 10 threads now did your gf get it on with a big rugby man god love ya!!!!!! Now dont you be worrying about the sincerity of rugby supporters they obviously pay enough through merchantise and gate fees to give the players and management of 4 provinces a good living and thus parachuting the irish teams to the top of europe.......... You stick to your gaa matches where everyone OF COURSE is a dye in the wool fanatic !!cop on if you went to any game rugby gaa, soccer golf you would see the same casual irish sport lover with no great affiliation to any code or sport juat enjoying the atmosphere and craic thats involved .So dont you worry about how others spend their hard earned cash because not every county is like kk where one sport has a sad monopoly

its the age old problem in this country the gaa and its supporters sem to think they have some devine right to be the main sport in this country- they truely are learning the hard way and teh bitterness of posters on here just confirms this. rugby is number one andwith a world cup coming up the obsession will just grow and grow. the inferiority complex of the gaa is actually laughable to be honest and their supporters are largely embarassing themselves over and over again

The majority of GAA players are not one bit embarresed..! Most of them i know that play GAA are either big soccer or rugby fans or both and you can throw in a bit of golf with that.. I for one am a dual GAA player and i am a season ticket holder to the least succsesful rugby team in the country as one poster put it earlier...! The only people that think that GAA players arent open minded are the people that stereotype us with GAa officals in a stuffy commitee room in the 1950's

Just came across this thread now. I find it really sad that people feel this way - and even sadder that someone feels strongly enough about it to start a thread about it. Some people like rugby, some people like soccer, who cares? As for bandwagon support look no further than our own for the biggest example of it in our country. If Galway win tomorrow and the next day out I likely will have trouble getting a ticket, despite having been at every game. And what I have noticed is that there have been more people at every game, particularly as we start winning again. I for one, unlike presumably Seamus, will not be in Thurles tomorrow shouting from the stand "GET OUT OF THE GROUND YOU FAKES! WHERE WERE YOU IN TULLAMORE?!" - I'll actually welcome them, hope they stick around, and support my team. Not some bitter keyboard pusher.

And Seamus, you wanted to meet a Connaught fan. First of all, it's Connacht. That aside, here I am - I have missed a handful of home games since I started secondary school, and have been a season ticket holder every year since they brought them in.

imagine the most successful sporting organisation ever in this country worrying about what some failed property developer has to say- laughable in the extreme.
