Have never had a lot of time for Willie McCrea and I didn't even know his son was in politics, but I do have to say that this is a terrible act on a family especially with young kids involved, whether or not he made those comments in jest which I believe that anyone with a sense of humour would have taken them to be,and even if they were not said in jest noboby should be targeted because of their views, all this will achieve is more targeting of innocent people.

Looks like Ian will be forking out for a new set of wheels.

I wonder is he a VW man, or is he more of a Ford fanatic?

I have to agree Jackieblue , I said last week that its the start of the silly season July seems to affect peoples ability to think or act responsible I said His comments would lead to an attack on an ORANGE Hall or something similar and tit for tat attacks some poor lad wearing GAA top will probably be next and for what a silly little man Twittering

I live in Antrim town. Same thing happened three weeks ago but that time the oil tank did explode and two houses were destroyed and two children in hospital.

But sure attempted murder of young children is great old crack, we can make jokes about the car and all.

Tried to post this already, but seems like the HS censors are out in force (although they don't seem to stop posts celebrating acts of violence).

Can anyone explain the difference between these thugs attacking McCrea's family home, and the thugs that went after Neil Lennon?

Both men have been the subject of wanton attacks, and none of the attacks can be justified. Yet there are posters on here now trying to justify the attacks, or make out that they were McCrea's fault. Does this suddenly mean that the attacks on Lennon were his own fault? Or are there double standards at play here?

Well said Black and white and 45.

Forty Five already knows how theNorth works, and probaly so does Black and White.

It is full of "whataboutery". So you mention Ian McCrea and those that did it will say "What about neil Lennon?" and so it goes on and on and on invoking King Billy, Cromwell, Owen Roe O'neill, Brian Boru..........

There is a serious competition between the MOPEs on both sides. As I have explained before MOPE stands for "most oppressed people ever".

Some on here find it funny that three young chil;dren were terrified at night by a vicious attack. As Forty Five said some lad in a GAA jersey will now get a kicking and the SAME people will be on here screaming "foul"

Just where has anybody demonstrated that they thought it funny that children were frightened by this. There is no difference in this attack and the attack on Lennon, they are simply sectarian in nature. The very same sectarianism that was at work when Mc Crea was getting funny on Twitter.

You have just mentioned funny on both incidents. The violent attack on a home and a twitter post.

If you read BOTH threads you will notice references to cars and having to get a bus to watch Donegal in the final.

All very amusing I am sure to neanderthals.

Patrique stop lying, its unbecoming of you. There is not a line that specifically suggests that it was funny to see children frightened. You are being disingenuous, sensationalist and irresponsible by saying otherwise.

"Do you want a pastie supper, Bobby Sands"

Is that a helpful request as in could I be so helpful as to get you something, or would it be an insult to someone who died for his beliefs, whether those beliefs were right or wrong?

Depends how you interpret posts.

Comments like;

Boo hoo, Willie. I love happy endings to a story.

He left himself with the risk of this happening. Fool.

God moves in Mysterious Ways!

e'll have to travel on the Donegal supporters bus to the Ulster Final now

it definitely wasnt brian dooher as he ran out of gasoline a few years back.

Those comments, taken from BOTH threads I asked you to look at, seem to trivialize the matter to me, making FUN out of it.

You however maybe interpret such comments as....concern for the man's family?

As I said already you were throwing lies out there and you know it. Wise up a bit at your age and admit your wrongdoing.

While I do not agree with the comments highlighted by yourself none of them could possibly be interpreted as finding fun in the terrorism of children. There may be a an argument that they were not sensitive to that issue but certainly not that they found it funny.

i agree with the post above pat, i think mccrea has paid dearly for his foolish remarks. he was clearly playing to an audience, but what has happened to him, if it was retaliation, is unjustifiable. retaliatary attacks, of any nature helps nobody, again IF, it was retaliation. (it is still unjustifiable even if it wasnt retaliation i just said if cause i dont know why this attack happened)

Did he get attacked?? Was there some kind of bizarre revenge??

I think this guy looks like he'd make a decent junior b corner forward who'd take your ankles off.

Good call. No doubt he'd have a great engine on him, well able to motor around the field.

Two of his children were badly burned in an arson attack on his house when the fuel tank exploded.

Pity it was the fuel tank, otherwise sergeant could have said it was a "gas". Boom boom.

I will send a few jokes the next time children get killed up here, sure it's great crack.

Hurlinspuds, for want of a better explanation Patrique is lying. He is deliberately misleading and lying about the Mc Crea incident. He is answering your question by referring to a completely different incident,a separate and abhorrent attack on a family home, not a car as was the case in the Mc Crea incident. He seems to think that if he says something enough times on hear that it will become true.He is deliberately trying to suggest that other posters thought it funny that children were frightened in the Mc Crea incident when its just not the case,no poster said anything that could be construed in this way.
