I honestly think Brogan is better than the Cooper by his performance today. What ye think? ward.015 (Galway) - Posts: 114 - 26/06/2011 21:56:31 967204 Link 0 |
Both a joy to watch, Brogan did put on some display in all fairness to him it's matches like yesterday and now next Sunday for Kerry against Cork that these players really show their metal where one move or a split second decision regarding shoot/pass can change the whole outcome of a game. Both are un-markable on their day but it's the ball into both that one really has to comment, the half forwards play in the perfect ball to give them the advantage over the backs. Two excellent footballers and probably the best two in the country at the minute. If I had to call it I'd go for Colm Cooper but mainly because he's been around longer and we've seen more of his brilliance! men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2022 - 27/06/2011 09:37:46 967269 Link 0 |
Don't think Bernard played particularly great yesterday. He had 2 to 3 players on him all the time and was getting dragged around a lot. Having said that he did knock over a great point in the first half and setup Flynn for the goal. Joxer (Dublin) - Posts: 4749 - 27/06/2011 09:58:16 967309 Link 0 |
You simply cant compare the two. waynoI (Dublin) - Posts: 13655 - 27/06/2011 12:34:56 967616 Link 0 |
I'd have Bernard on my team quicker. A tough physical corner back could put the shackles on Gooch, but nobody could bully Bernard, he's too strong. Sergeant_Slash (Cavan) - Posts: 2182 - 27/06/2011 12:44:59 967641 Link 0 |
Ha ha, Bernard wasn't even the best Brogan in Croke Park yesterday. Alan ran the game from centre forward. Cilldara_2000 (Kildare) - Posts: 57 - 27/06/2011 12:45:57 967643 Link 0 |

Whatever plaudits that Brenard Brogan has got will be forgotten as a result of his gamesmanship in getting a free he didnt deserve.Should Dubs go close this year nobody outside Dublin will have sympathy for them after Brogans gamesmanship ,it wasnt close on a foul and if referee blew every "foul" like Brogans it be a free kick fest! claremaninkerry (Clare) - Posts: 92 - 27/06/2011 14:17:53 967853 Link 0 |
In my lifetime, no one comes close to Gooch and Canavan. jonny1951 (Mayo) - Posts: 1431 - 27/06/2011 14:22:57 967865 Link 0 |
Gooch has more skill, but Bernard has been carrying this Dublin team the past two years, whereas Gooch has been surrounded by quality players. Sergeant_Slash (Cavan) - Posts: 2182 - 27/06/2011 14:24:40 967869 Link 0 |

Based on a medal count then Gooch wins hands down , on playing ability it's much closer in my opinion . Both are able to kick points off both feet and do so under intense pressure , Brogan's a stronger player physically and more pacy than the Gooch and had he a foil like Kieran Donaghy to play off would score even more than he already does. dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 27/06/2011 14:31:48 967893 Link 0 |
Utter tripe Clareman and spoken like an armchair supporter. Soft as the free was it was most definately a free. What RTE failed to pick up was the build up to the run from when Cahill made the pass. A clear pull back and ref was in prime position to see it. Jackeen (Dublin) - Posts: 4097 - 27/06/2011 14:34:25 967901 Link 0 |
Gooch all day. Brogan very good but not in same bracket. A Ronaldo/Messi comparison. Brolly (Monaghan) - Posts: 4472 - 27/06/2011 14:41:57 967919 Link 0 |
