I knew that there would be a thread started about Rorys nationality,I would imagine he would be like 90% of NIs population,he has other things on his mind than a flag. The 10% from both sides that worry about a union flag or tricolour need to get a life.Is it not enough that we have arguably the greatest talent on the planet at the moment without lowering it to politics?

Exactly. The only thing I'd read in to those comments is he's not bothered about politics and he's not bothered changing his passport. That's not to say he's aware as his trip to Haiti showed or that he has no pride of place as his support of Ulster and Irish rugby shows.

Lads, I hate to break the news, but Northern Ireland is in Britan.
In other news, we landed on the moon

How long before we have people saying that england are trying to 'claim' McIlroy on the back of him winning? Even though he has himself said he wants to represent Britan? You know, the same guys who sneer about the english trying to 'claim' andy murray as british. Funnily enough Scotland is in Britan, but dont let that get in the way of a good old england bashing. To make matters worse, we are happy to call McIlroy irish in the saem breath. Talk about a double standard.

Hate to break it to you, but Northern Ireland is not, nor has it ever been, part of Britain. Britain is an island comprised of England, Scotland and Wales.

Northern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, a legal geo-political entity.

Everyone knows the moon landing was filmed in a studio.

I'm agnostic re the moon landing. Why do you think there wouldn't be shadows on the moon?

Too dark. There is no moonlight on the moon and no street lamps.

Sir, you seem to be missing the whole point of the forum. It's a release valve for pent up Nationalistic fervour that the GFA stymied somewhat.

In 1920......Ireland is part of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland, a legal geo-political entity. Does this mean that our grandfathers, great grandfathers, Michael Collins etc etc were british too???

Anyone who thinks we landed on the moon needs a bit more education. Complete hoax lads. How could they do it 40 years ago and not be able to do it now? Staged hoax for cold war one upmanship.
