Made up nonsense is what that is.Do you think the majority of Catholics voting for Sinn Fein don't know what the political aims of the party are? Even the SDLP have voters who are in favour of a united Ireland Paddy:) seanie_boy (Tyrone) - Posts: 4235 - 18/06/2011 09:15:55 959309 Link 0 |
I would have thought that this poll like all of its kind is flawed. I don't want a united ireland until the majority of people in the north want it. If it never happens then I accept I'll never have it. It's reported as a suprise that 4% of protestant want a united ireland, is that not to be expected??! Overall nothing in this suprised me. The basket case that is the republic of ireland at the moment is not a very attractive proposition. What a shame FF the republican party did so much to damage the reunification of this island. And people like seamus persist in voting for them, unbelievable. hurlinspuds (Cork) - Posts: 1494 - 18/06/2011 12:28:17 959383 Link 0 |
ball boy i can accept that you do not want a united ireland but i would prefer if you did not speak on behalf of the rest of the country by saying that the 26 counties as a whole does not want a united ireland. gotmilk (Fermanagh) - Posts: 4971 - 18/06/2011 12:42:46 959398 Link 0 |

Giving the state of the south id say 99 pc of the population down here wouldnt mind been part of the empire ourselfs lets be honest the vision of the republic all the patriots died for has hardly been realised look at the way we treated our young in the industrial schools and we still havent a childrens referendum!!Look at the way our elderly are been treated in care....Look at the way our mentally ill are been treated so basically all the most vunrable sectors of our society been treated like second class citizens ....Also we have an elite class of people who control the media and public policy we have corrupt polititians who never get held to account and a banking system that has put the tax payer and its children and grandchildren into financial disrepair AND AGAIN NO ACCOUNTABILTY ON THAT FRONT only golden hanshakes .iNSTEAD we lock up those who cant pay tv license or bin charges .What a country eh? i wish i could be proud of this nation but im disillusioned and woulndt bat an eyelid if we gave the keys back to westminster . booboo (Cork) - Posts: 1382 - 18/06/2011 17:14:07 959628 Link 0 |

OK who answered this survey? Which people did they pick for it because I certainly dont know anyone who answered it, also this survey is smaller than the ones that have been done in previous years cboyle92 (Down) - Posts: 184 - 19/06/2011 13:27:58 960041 Link 0 |

Surprised when I read this, didn't think it would be as high as 16%. Sinn Fein have well and truly pulled the wool over the eyes of their supporters, they follow the leadership like sheep when partition has been well and truly copper fastened. 40 years ago those who killed Policemen and security forces were labelled as heroes while now they're being ostracised and branded as traitors by the Sinn Fein leadership. Sinn Fein need partition, their very existence as a political party depends on it. They have the highly paid jobs in Stormont and, even looking at the 'Republicans' on here, they are more than happy with their cushy civil servant jobs. I don't like Sinn Fein but I respect how they have fooled their electorate for their own personal gain. We're as far away from a United Ireland as we ever have been, however some are too blind to see this obvious truth that's staring them in the face pplocal (Tyrone) - Posts: 5878 - 19/06/2011 15:01:06 960143 Link 0 |
well said PP sinn fein/ ira need partion because without it they are completely irrelevant, republican have lost all identity in the north and i suppose its a result of their own stupidity listening to the lies of sinn fein/ ira all along- they have made their beds and now they must lie/ rot in them. i would say you would get better odds on ireland rejoing britian than a united ireland. this all makes me happy as we have finally washed our hands of the north as the survey indicates its a complete no runner and rightly so liathroidboy (Mayo) - Posts: 4921 - 19/06/2011 16:05:32 960214 Link 0 |

again littleboy, your bitterness is blinding you, the way the good friday agreement is set up states that the 6 counties will only rejoin the 26 when it is the will of the MAJORITY of the people of the 6 counties. and that was voted for by the people of the 32, which, if you are what you claim to be, are part of. MATE. and as ive asked you before which part of belfast are you from? pig.ignorant (Derry) - Posts: 655 - 19/06/2011 21:32:12 960550 Link 0 |
