Should be a good final..added to by the local rivallry. Redhills might have enough to win it but Minagh will be a big miss if a few strings cant be pulled! Redhills captain Fitzpatrick will fill the gap if he's suspended. Think Redhills have a good bench in Brides, Dunne, Fay, McMahon to come in and freshen it up if needs be.. Will be hard fought and well-earned i think for whoever wins.

I think the midfield battle will be important here. redhills are weak there. Dunne is not a midfielder. Ballyhaise could gain a foothold here. The Redhills half forwards and half backs will have to be on top form to win enough possesion. Redhills have better forwards then Lavey though I have to say. Ballyhaise have to be favourites given they are in Division 1.

When was the last time either of these teams were in an intermediate final?

Not too sure about the Ballyhaise midfield McNulty, neither of them attempted to catch a ball on Sunday. They both went in for each kick out with the idea of knocking it down and hopefully winning the breaks. Dunne might be better suited as a half-back but he's still a better footballer than either of the ballyhasie midfielders, and the other lad (who was Leddy i think) ran the show for Redhills against Drumlane for the first 45 mins

scatman tom Ray Cullivan was the ballyhaise midfielder and he attempted to catch every ball only he was being pulled and tugged all the time. go back to the quarter final replay against cootehill and he was outstanding. caught 80% of all kickouts. as for the ohter midfielder, well i agree with you there, he was not very good

That other midfielder was McCrudden, suppose he was poor. Like he only scored 1-1., caught a few kickouts and did not let his man catch 1 ball, broke everything down to a ballyhaise player.. If thats a bad day for him, I would love to see a good day!!! Cullivan also scored a few points. Did not catch much but was on the ball the whole time.. But Redhills will be stronger than Lavey at Midfield. Lavey only had Sean Maguire and a.n. other. Redhills to win by 3, but hopefully not, they will be hard to listen to then..!!!

Redhills have been good, very good so far. They have played some fast, expansive football. Ballyhaise on the other hand have only played in fits and starts and have never dominated any team in the way Redhills have. However, with closer examination of the Ballyhaise opposition you will see that they have beaten the two other Division One teams in the competition Drumalee and Lavey. Lavey were also only narrowly beaten by the eventual Ulster Champions in the final. Their quarter final opponents were an impressive Cootehill who had just won three games in the qualifiers. Redhills defeated Laragh Utd (Division 3), Bailieborough (Bottom of Division 2) and Drumlane (Middle of Division 2). So its just possible that Ballyhaise have a chance in the final if they can defend well and get a few of their many injured players back.

Have to say and I know I'll get slated just cos I'm a monaghan man but I've followed Redhills this year as I'm a near neighbour but the teams they have played have been of an awful standard. Is Intermediate really that bad or have all these teams been just having bad days. Redhills haven't even been that good in their games as it was just to easy for them. Now I'm not an avid follower of Cavan football I just follow Drung and Redhills as I'm closest to them so unless Ballyhaise are a very good side I think Redhills will win.

plenty of talk on the site about how good redhills are, I haven't seen them play this year so I can't say one way or the other. what I would like to know is what has caused redhills to be so good this year? new manager/more commitment/lots of talent coming through etc.....?
Or as somebody said above have the opposition really been so poor that they just look excellent?

The addition/maturing of 6 minors (5 of whom were on the county panel) has helped Redhills, and the new management which has improved training sessions. Seldom are sessions the same and players are still turning up in large numbers..

Cheers Jim, bit surprised by those prices I have to say - would have had them a lot closer myself, maybe even the other way round

With so many good "maturing" minors how did redhills get on in the U21s this year? Who is managing redhills this year?

the minors were missing Minagh (dislocated shoulder) and Mark Kelly. and the pick of U21's isnt great. Better players helping them out in the senior team. Mickey Cadden from St. Pat's in Fermanagh is training us this year. His son's play for St Pat's who won senior title last week and with Fermanagh also
