Redhills beat Bailieboro by 8 points. Handy enough result, could have been more.. wishfulthinkin (Cavan) - Posts: 1731 - 07/09/2008 20:36:25 94618 Link 0 |
Redhills looked good but Baileboro' were very poor. Dunne, Leddy and Gumley done all the damage for Redhills scatmanTom (Cavan) - Posts: 6 - 08/09/2008 11:57:39 94971 Link 0 |
Redhills looked awesome on Sat evening score at will, good ball handling, good ball carriers, movement was superb slight question over full back line but dont think Drumlane will have the forward sto capitalise on this anyway. I think this championship has Redhills name all over it. And Im not a Redhills man. Hotrod (Cavan) - Posts: 1 - 08/09/2008 12:08:19 94996 Link 0 |
Redhills; Looked very impressive at the weekend, a lot of v good young footballers. Are the team with the best momentum at the moment. From what Ive seen so far would be surprise favourites. Beat Drumlane by a Hugh margin in the league. Alex (Cavan) - Posts: 11 - 08/09/2008 14:16:59 95219 Link 0 |

I have heard that Killinkere are bringing a case before the Ulster council. For those of you not up to speed they refused to play in the relegation playoff as they got a bye into the next round of the qualifiers. Apparently they are using last year as precedent for the fact that you should not have to re enter the relegation playoff once you got the a bye. this loop hole was spotted last year but not availed of as both Castlerahan and Bailieboro won their qualifier games after getting the a bye. The geniuses in the county board then forgot to change any of the rules. So that would leave us in limbo. McNulty (Cavan) - Posts: 47 - 17/09/2008 11:11:06 101493 Link 0 |
McNulty is it fair that the County Board change the rules in September ? PhilJemmysField (Cavan) - Posts: 4 - 17/09/2008 11:40:05 101544 Link 0 |
to be honest i don't know what the official rules were. i'm unsure as to whether there was an actual rule which stated that the team that got the a bye was free from relegation. it may have just been implied into it. McNulty (Cavan) - Posts: 47 - 17/09/2008 13:56:17 101713 Link 0 |

redhills through to final after another 8 point win. Made it hard for themselves in the 2nd half. management prob should have made a few changes earlier than they did to freshen it up. Drumlane got it back to 4 before redhills pushed on. Awesome 1st half performance but sluggish in the 2nd half... wishfulthinkin (Cavan) - Posts: 1731 - 21/09/2008 13:22:39 103924 Link 0 |
Great 1st half performance by Redhills. Blew Drumlane out of it, they had no answer to the hills passion and intensity. Have to be the favourites now to lift the cup. reillybp (None) - Posts: 2 - 22/09/2008 10:22:18 104216 Link 0 |
What are people's predections for the other semi final between Lavey and Ballyhaise? ninga13 (Cavan) - Posts: 7 - 22/09/2008 13:05:12 104498 Link 0 |
Think the final is on the 12th Oct. jimjim (Cavan) - Posts: 31 - 22/09/2008 14:36:27 104606 Link 0 |
I was in at the Lavey v Ballyhaise game yesterday. Ballyhaise won by 3 points i think. Lavey totally dominated the first half, and went in 2 points up at half time but it should have been more. The haise came out "guns blazin", and went ahead with a goal by Stephen Smith i think. Lavey went to hell in the 2nd half and kick a lot of wides, especially from frees. Ballyhaise will fancy their chances in the final. Good backs in McCormack, and Rooney, Cullivan and McCrudden good in midfield and Tierney and Pickit very good up front. I was also in a the game on Saturday and the performance by both teams I must say was very poor. I'd say Redhills lads looking on would be very confident. The young lad playing up front for Ballyhaise who came out to wing half forward was way too greedy and their midfiled looked fairly laboured. Redhills's skill and speed to pevail me thinks scatmanTom (Cavan) - Posts: 6 - 30/09/2008 09:24:06 110807 Link 0 |
