Redhills beat Bailieboro by 8 points. Handy enough result, could have been more..

Redhills looked good but Baileboro' were very poor. Dunne, Leddy and Gumley done all the damage for Redhills

Redhills looked awesome on Sat evening score at will, good ball handling, good ball carriers, movement was superb slight question over full back line but dont think Drumlane will have the forward sto capitalise on this anyway. I think this championship has Redhills name all over it. And Im not a Redhills man.

Redhills; Looked very impressive at the weekend, a lot of v good young footballers. Are the team with the best momentum at the moment. From what Ive seen so far would be surprise favourites. Beat Drumlane by a Hugh margin in the league.

Ballyhaise/Coothill; On paper Ballyhaise have the best team left in the competition, but they where v poor against Coothill and where lucky to get away with a draw. Coothill missed a peno, and missed a lot of scores in the second half. Ballyhaise have a lot of improving to do if they expect to win the championship.

Drumlane; major surprise beating drumgoon, similar team to Lavey, good defence and questionable in attack. Could change thou if the rumours about Daryl McConnell being home for the next round are true! Should be a good game between them and Redhills.

Lavey; Lavey are flyin in division 1, compact and hard to beat. Haven't really bein tested yet in this years championship. Last years beating finalists will be hard bet. I expect them to get to the final again.

Prediction: Redhills V Lavey Final, Redhills to scrap it thou!?!

Re MBC:
That was my first post so I don't how you could classify it as 'another classic forecast'. Its the Leaguers first year at intermediate and perhaps it was a step too far this year for the Junior Champs but the experience will do them good for next year, on the plus side they have maintained Division 2 status.

I have heard that Killinkere are bringing a case before the Ulster council. For those of you not up to speed they refused to play in the relegation playoff as they got a bye into the next round of the qualifiers. Apparently they are using last year as precedent for the fact that you should not have to re enter the relegation playoff once you got the a bye. this loop hole was spotted last year but not availed of as both Castlerahan and Bailieboro won their qualifier games after getting the a bye. The geniuses in the county board then forgot to change any of the rules. So that would leave us in limbo.

can't see the other teams in the hat being too impressed with that. the championship will be over before relegation is decided i'd say. in terms of fairness i believe it would be a disgrace if killinkere got to avoid it due to the luck of the draw.

McNulty is it fair that the County Board change the rules in September ?

to be honest i don't know what the official rules were. i'm unsure as to whether there was an actual rule which stated that the team that got the a bye was free from relegation. it may have just been implied into it.

weighing up both sides of the argument though i would say it would be more fairer to change the rules now then to allow a team which has done nothing to deserve stay outr of the dogfight due to some official in the county board's administrative oversight. killinkere didn't care about it until they were in the position they are in so I don't think they can cry about only having this thrown at them at the last minute.

not giving out about killinkere's actions, any club would do the same i'd say. as a matter of equitable treatment though i don't see any reason whatsoever why they shouldn't have to play. i do't want to hear arguments about whether or not the rules should be changed etc etc I'm just saying that it discredits the spirit of championship football if teams get out of it this way. put it this way if a team won their first round game and weren't put into the next round as there weren't enough other teams to play it would we stand for teh "it's the luck of the draw argument". i doubt it.

redhills through to final after another 8 point win. Made it hard for themselves in the 2nd half. management prob should have made a few changes earlier than they did to freshen it up. Drumlane got it back to 4 before redhills pushed on. Awesome 1st half performance but sluggish in the 2nd half...

Great 1st half performance by Redhills. Blew Drumlane out of it, they had no answer to the hills passion and intensity. Have to be the favourites now to lift the cup.

What are people's predections for the other semi final between Lavey and Ballyhaise?

Think the final is on the 12th Oct.
Could be a tight game. Think Lavey by 4-5. Ballyhaise to bottle it again. Similar teams but Lavey have been there before and will be again.. Sorry Ballyhaise :)

I was in at the Lavey v Ballyhaise game yesterday. Ballyhaise won by 3 points i think. Lavey totally dominated the first half, and went in 2 points up at half time but it should have been more. The haise came out "guns blazin", and went ahead with a goal by Stephen Smith i think. Lavey went to hell in the 2nd half and kick a lot of wides, especially from frees. Ballyhaise will fancy their chances in the final. Good backs in McCormack, and Rooney, Cullivan and McCrudden good in midfield and Tierney and Pickit very good up front.

I was also in a the game on Saturday and the performance by both teams I must say was very poor. I'd say Redhills lads looking on would be very confident. The young lad playing up front for Ballyhaise who came out to wing half forward was way too greedy and their midfiled looked fairly laboured. Redhills's skill and speed to pevail me thinks
