It's probably between Lavey and Drumgoon for the Intermediate title this year but they both face local derbies in the first round which could be interesting....

Very little jazz re the intermediate championship........ Any predictions for the weekend?
P.S. - Thank god Keogan is gone. The mark of the man, turning on the players as a parting shot. Neither the time or the place for it.

Laragh v Redhills - Redhills to put down a marker that they will be serious contenders in this years championship - Redhills by 8-10.

Lavey v Killinkere - A closer contest than most may imagine. Lavey are almost Germanic in their ability to gain resulats while playing unspectacular workmanlike football. Not playing that well at the moment but should still have too much in this local derby. Lavey by a goal.

Killeshandra v Bailieboro - A tight fiery encounter. Killeshandra have hit the barrier in division 2 after the heady heights of top of the table and promotion talk earlier in the year. Bailieboro always a good championship team and although both teams without key players in the US Bailiboro should have a bit too much firepower - Bailieboro by 2.

Cootehill v Drumgoon - A big local derby and although Cootehill almost always put it up to the goonies I just can't see it this time. Drumgoon's county players to shine through in a 5 point win with a red card or 2.

Kill v Swanlinbar - Both teams playing for safety at this level by avoiding a first round loss. Loser likely to be in a relegation final. A draw or Swad by a point.

Drumalee v Ballyhaise - Two teams strugglin in Division 1 with Drumalee already relegated. Mickey Brennan a massive loss and can't see them being able to lift themselves enough for this. ballyhaise with the likes of McCrudden, Tierney, Cullivan, Costellow and a few other decent forwards should get too many scores on the board for a Drumalee team over reliant on frees from the most photographed man in Cavan. Ballyhaise by 4.

Ballymachugh v Drumlane - I feel this could be the shock of the round. Ballymahugh almost shocked top of the table Drumgoon in their last game after racing into a lead and but for a indiscipline could have held out for the result. Drumlane had a very poor result against a struggling Shercock side and could find it hard to match the aggression and fight of Ballymahugh. Ballymahugh by a point.

A good few draws in all over the weekend. It seems like there was more draws this weekend than there would be on a normal week of league fixtures.
Crosserlough and Gowna
Lavey and Kilenkere
Templeport and Cornafein
Arva and Corlough
Kill and Swanlinbar
Are all these replays to be played off next weekend? Who do yous think will win.
I was surprised with Lavey and Kilenkere finishing level. I thought Lavey would be pushing for honours but after that result im not so sure. Kilenlere might take them in the replay.
Gowna look to be a spent force, ageing team with not much talent coming through from the last few minor teams, but Crosserlough on the other hand have been pushing for division one minor and under 21 titles for the last few years, i think they could win the replay.
Templeport i think could beat Cornafein in the replay but it will be close, dont be too surprised if there is extra time.
Arva and Corlough- who really cares, two bad teams not going to have a hope of winning anything.
Swad might have to much for Kill if the 3 Cunninghams perform, although if they dont and McKenna does it could go the other way but i dont think that will happen.
