Donegal had better players on their bench than we had out on the field.very disappointed with Sean Johnston past it in my opinion

Negative negative negative, from the very first minute we were going backwards with the ball. I recall when I was on the county u16s, and going back over the videoes of every game we played, with mistakes and good play being pointed out, the one thing we got repeatedly told was don't go backwards, play the ball forward at every opportunity unless you are under serious pressure and have no other option. Outrageous.

No idea whatsoever. brutal. yes playing the young players is the way forward but they have to have some idea how to play the game first. Look at Donegal , young Mc Brearty 18 yr old minor ran the show..We are clueless, no passion, no ideas, no cohesion, no nothing.
See now the importance of playing a higher standard in the league? Donegal heading for Div 1 we happy not to get relegated from Div 3. Thats the difference ..
Who is to blame? Players? Management?

Maybe do like your hurlers and pull the team out?

Well we withdrew the hurling team to redevelop. Maybe we should withdraw the footballers, to stop the shame and humiliation.

Worst Cavan performance ever possibly, although there are dozens of contenders in recent years.

Just in the door, wet and angry and have to say it was the worst Cavan performance in years BUT i did tell you so How could any management team pick 5 new backs for the 1st round of a c/ship. Why not play them in the League or Mc Kenna Cup ? No we wait till the c/ship. Men against boys in every way. No pride, guts or passion and that was all i asked for. Who is to blame ? The buck lies with the management team !! I am still waiting for the Val Andrews Appreciation Society to tell me where and when he had success apart from college football. He nearly put Louth back 10 years.
As Tomsmith says " Up the road with you Val and don't even look back "" Just like in the U 21 Final the management waited till the game was lost to make changes too.

I also see that many of his backers on this forum didn't even go to the match and they had the most to say !! Shame on you too !!

Hurling team was not withdrawn to redevelop as nothing as yet has happened to help develop hurling. They were withdrawn to save money pure and simple. They should stop wasting the vast amounts spent on football as well as there does not seem to be any improvement. If they don't beat Longford then there is no hope for Cavan football.

yea pretty bad alright ,but it was one of the worst cavan teams ive seen ,it would be better to pick our strongest 15 ,but we would of needed to be playing our forwards on the half way line to shoot from there ,theres no getting past 14 blanketgal players ,it just wasnt gona happen,it was even worse than the antrim game to watch ,i really hope management put out a better team next time out ,we havent the players to play against blanket defence countys .not looking good for us going forward .

no point in saying johnston is past it? he got one shot in the whole game, problems are further out the field . like any forward he cant score without a good supply of ball although he made no attempt to track lacey at all. VAL AND TERRY had NO GAMEPLAN whatsoever, they dont have a clue, between putting in and out Keating and Givney. Lyng was poor, nesty should of been on for him at the start or after 15 minutes. There is NOT ONE GOOD BACK IN THE COUNTY. mckeever should have also started a wing back.

No pride has been played in a Cavan senior jersey in some time, I think the young players today were just happy to be playing and granted they tried their best but they did lack in passion. But could you blame them? Look at the more senior players they have to look up to. The same mistakes been made in the last decade still being made. Is there no self-respect or loyalty in any player to go out and improve themselves as footballers?

We know the problems in Cavan. Lazy attitudes, begrudging others, cocky attitudes and blame others and take no responsibility. The only effort in Cavan football in recent years is teams making an extra just to beat the Gaels because of their begrudging and pathetic jealous attitudes, instead of having the correct attitude of raising current standards and contest to win silverware. That is what Kingscourt did, a united team when they played last year and deserving champions. A pity some of their players were not picked on the Cavan panel their input would have been valueble.

Standards of club teams is dreadful, there is players who do not have the correct technique in even kicking a football or any fitness levels whatsoever but because of low numbers they have a dreadful attitude knowing that they will be picked anyway and just rely on any of the few decent players.

We can take comfort knowing talent is coming through with the under 21s and the minors but we have to improve the attitude that surrounds them and what they look up to. A lot rides on the Longford game. If we lose it wold be an all time low.

Same ole, same ole every year as we go from bad to worse !! But sure we go very well in training and people are happy with that !!
Looks like the whinging will go on forever so judging from that episode today. What other management team in Ireland put out 5 new backs for their first game in the c/ship ? Only in Cavan. Wait 'till we hear the excuses from Andrews or Hyland " well we have a very young team who will learn from this " !! Pure rubbish yet again !! We are told/asked to have patience as it will come good. Not a snowballs chance in Hell of that happening !!

Blue revolution, what Senior Players? There were too many young players to have senior players to look up to. And there was Kingscourt players in, but one quit because he felt his own club training was of a way higher standard with more intensity. That tells you something.

Didnt get to see the game myself but heard we were poor, we just dont have the right crop of players at the moment, heard cullivan got sent off for a foolish kickout, dont think he should have started in the first place, the longford game should show us what kind of level where at
