no shure we have to fit in Seamus Hennessy and Benny Dunne and Buggy O meara and Paddy Murphy as well remember them off the All Ireland u21 team last year that beat Galway by 25 points and oh yeah Hugh Coughlan and David Young and Michael Gleeeson and James Woodlock and Pat Kerwick as well
No sorry no room for the players you mentioned on the Tipp subs bench maybe the intermediate team! just maybe depending how many injuries we would have on the day!

ah no Paddy Stapleton is brilliant shure he destroyed Kilkenny last year and Johno the points he scored and Benny the point he scored and oh yeah did you see bennys goal against Cork a few weeks ago.? and Young the way he sorted Eoin Larkin ah no stekhli I do agree that Young and O Keefe are struggling to make a Tipp machine but they would get their place on any other team in the country and shure we have to find a place for Hennessy after the point he scored against Kilkenny shure he didnt even bother his barney to catch the ball just strike it from 70 yards out and oh Callinans 2 points when he came in its never ending stekhli but we can only play 15 sorry!!!!!!!!!!

Had to laugh that you consider Stapleton a passenger, he is one of the most consistent backs over the last fews years. Let's see how your backs match up to the Galway forwards ;)

Clare should win this pulling up.
Must be at least 40 years since Tipp put TWO good years together.
And still arrogant despite that.

When ye are finished spouting BS at each other, let's get back to the matter at hand
How do you see this game going? Clare will no doubt bring a fighting spirit to the game so it's naieve to think that Tipp will have it all their own way for 70 minutes but in fairness they are the AI champions having come through a tough game against Cork while Clare have been frustratingly stuck in Division 2, having lost to Wexford & Limerick in the last 2 finals.
I think Clare like ourselves are a team with a decent history & hurling tradition - everyone remembers our All Irelands in the 90s - but at the moment we are teams who have sank into obscurity but are trying to pull ourselves back out of the mire, slowly but surely. But again like us, they are a team in transition with a lot to prove. By that logic, I think asking Clare to beat Tipp is like asking us to beat KK and we all know what happened there in recent days, we're just not there yet.
I think Clare will put up a good effort, there won't be much in it at half time but I reckon Tipp will control the 2nd half and run out winners by 6-8 points. It won't do Tipp any good to stroll through this game though, they will need a tough encounter to be ready for Waterford
As for Clare, assuming they are beaten, there will be Wexford, Limerick, Clare, Antrim/Westmeath in the qualifiers, there's potential for some cracking games in there

first of all gigoer as much as this may hurt the clare hurling team is far more talented to wexfords team , and secondly that inferiority complex that wexford have about the cats still isnt there with tipp and clare as clare have given more then their fair share of it over the last decade , go as far back as 2009 to see this , i think tipp will win but i feel clare will be fired up for this , this is clares big game while for tipp its just another step towards munster glory and september , i do feel tipp will win , i feel clare will dominate most of the game but tipp will have a few of their "patches"where they can get 2-3 in the space of what seems a few seconds nad this will ultimately seal clares fate , tipp always , always take their foot off the pedal for some reason or another , they are nowhere near as relentless as kilkenny were/possibly still are , they have weaknesses , clare have alot of strenghts , a good game in prospect

On a serious note Gigoer Wexford have more tradition than Clare who have no tradition as they onyy won their second All Ireland in over 80 years in the 90s as well as the one in 97. They have won nothing since and it looks like it could be another 80 years. I see Tipp ahead by about 5 points at half time and to win by 10 points. Clare will hit the ground running for about ten minutes.

I admire your optimism for this young Clare team. While I am hopeful, I am not overly optimistic. To my mind, Clare will have to play a sweeper, which might free up space in the forward line and give the midfield area more opportunity to give quality ball to Honan. I don't care if two Tipp lads are marking him, if he gets his hand on the ball he will skin anyone.

Stekhli, that doesn't hurt at all, that's a valid opinion you're perfectly entitled to & spoken like a gentleman/lady. You could well be right about the 2-3 thing, Tipp have shown that they are capable of hitting big scores like that but i hope as you say, Clare make a good game of it but like you I still think Tipp will win. frankly I think your own hurlers against Galway is going to make a far greater game - how do you see that going? Confident?

As I alluded to in my previous post, Wexford & Clare's successes in the 90s captured the imagination of most/all hurling supporters & i doubt many would begrudge either of them competing at the top level again one day - God knows hurling could use the competition. But still you had to make a sweeping statement that Clare won't win an AI for 80 years - ridiculous presumption and subtle as a brick, as ever
We all seem to agree that Tipp will win on Sunday, just the manner of their victory seems to be the discussion here, that may play well into Clare's hands but I still can't see them triumphing
Keeping in mind, hurling does exist outside of Tipperary, what's your verdict on the Galway v Dublin match? And please, don't spout some sh*te about how the game doesn't matter or Tipp will beat them anyway, & just call it as you think Dublin v Galway will happen

lohansredhelmet i dont feelim being optimistic , i feel im being realistic and calling it as i see it , tipp supporters will ahve clare followers believe that they will lose by 20 plus which wont happen , clare are young , talented and enthusiastic team id be very disappointed if they dont put it up to tipp , the worse thing this clare team could do is go behind early , once tipp get a run on you they go for the jugular as seen against cork , droopping balls down on tipps half back line isnt as bad as doing it to say waterford , kilkenny , galwayas besides maher it lacks physiaclity , aggression and confidence and conlan and lynch are good competitors in the air , the tipp fb back line can be dodgy , cahill as really come on thisyearbutcurran and stapleton in particular vcan be liabilities , keeping mcgrath and corbett quiet and keeping the discipline is key for clare if they do these thing s they have a chance if they dont i theybwill almost certainly lose
