Clare have little chance against Tipp

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

ht , clare are only three points behind and dont look out of their depth , i still tipp will pull away at the end but ive seen enough from that first 35 to know clare will be serious team for whoever they meet , honan and conlan have been marked out of it by curran and maher respectively , clare finding it easier to score this due to the workrate of the clare backs , but the gap between the clare fb line and the hb line is absolutely ridiculous and something that sparrow will have to resolve , if mcgrath , mcmahon and lynch keep up their form and honan and conlan come into the match big time clare have a great chance

Well Tipp pulled away in the end. The 4th goal didnt deserve to go in. Clare must work on their defending put are putting together a nice team. They will fancy their chances in the qualifiers. Tipp's class shone through and maher had a stormer. Should be a cracking munster final.

For about 50 minutes, it was anyone's game, a good effort by Clare, they've nothing to be ashamed of but eventually Tipp's class came through, a mark of AI champions

NOw it's defending AI champs vs Defending Munster Champs in the Munster final

Should be a cracker

tipp won like i said by 10 in 3rd gear backs were superb clare will fancy a good run in qualifiers but relyed far too much on scores from outside the 45 to beat tipp and kk you have to get goals

ye itll be a great mf , callanan is an unbelievable player , pa bourke will probably come in for obrien which will only make their team stronger , paudie maher , bonnar maher , paul curran , omahony all great , clare did well mcgrath , conlan , cooney , oconner , minerney , donnellan all did well , honan didnt look interested , thurlesblues will probably come on here spouting about how easy it was and i suppose in the end he was right , clares ball winning ability isnt there yet and they lacked composure at times ,m tipps fitness is something to behold they pulvarise teams in the last 10 , they still have some weaknesses , stapleton , okeeffe and young arent solid and all have been exploited in the last two games at some stage , cahill is class and the same with paudie maher , i feel this clare team will do great things in the future and good luck to them and sparrow , im not optimistic about their chances in the qualifiers , but they have to get promoted this year and continue their development in div 1 in 2013

I hope Tipp fans dont come here and spout rubbish about how easy it was....it was not an easy game for tipp. there is such thing as a bad winner

pretty sad that you didn't even go to the game... I'll come on HS tomorrow to see what the real Tipp supporters think...

Dead easy for Tipp in the end, toying with Clare for the whole game.

I think they should suspend the All Ireland hurling for the next 20 years and just award the trophy to Tipperary.

Best side I have ever seen by a mile and NO ONE will be able to touch them for at least 20 years.

Spot on, nothing "easy" about that win, some poor defending cost Clare dear, their first half performance was superb and other countie will take note of Tipp's poor start. But well done Clare ran of steam some lovely players.

Of course there are such things as bad winners yew tree, just read any one of thurlestool's posts, although I will say he's not indicative of your typical Tipp fan who in my experience have always been a sporting & fun bunch - had a great night with them back in 2007 when we beat them in Croker, had a great night last year in Thurles when they knocked us out of the championship

Anyhoo, Waterford will be well up for Tipp, they'll have taken a lot from coming so close against Limerick & they are the defending champs, looking forward to it

YOU MUST NOT HAVE SEEN MUCH HURLING IF THERE THE BEST SIDE YOU EVER SAW..

Hard luck to Clare. It was a gallant effort by them but similar to ourselves are work in progress. Again similarly to ourselves they lack scoring forwards, 1-9 they hurled well given the amount of ball coming in from Tipp half-back line.
If I was a Clare supporter I would not be too disappointed. It's good to see a young team coming through. I hope that we have an U-21 team this year on which to build a team for the future.

I admit they would not live with Mullahoran or come anywhere ear to their records but they are a club side.

I meant county sides.

patrique just has a peculiar sense of humour, when he is in one of these quixotic moods he is best ignored. thurlesblues is another oddball not to be taken too seriously. Todays game had a cracking 1st half, Clare were never going to be able to keep up the opening level of intensity. There only chance was to build a good lead and the prospect of an upset might have kept the adrenalin levels up. However Tipps 3 goal burst put paid to that and even though they fought on manfully after that there was only going to be 1 winner. A very enjoyable game with some tasty scores and its good to see that hurling is still very much alive in every Munster County.

People are talking an awful lot about tipperary's defensive performances so far, but they still have only conceded one goal in two games, cork have shipped 4 goals, waterford and limerick 3 goals apiece and clare took 4 goals. I'm not as worried as other people are. We can only get better. Young and O'Keefe were poor, brining in Lillis was a great move and Stapleton is very underrated but his man stayed quiet. Curran kept Honan quiet. Overall very pleased, nice to see the forwards rack up a good score. Great to come through after a stern challenge. Fair play clare, i honestly didn't see that performance coming, well done again.

naivety in defense ultimately cost the banner. although maher and cummins were outstanding for tipp, clare pucked themselves out of the game with numerous close range wides in the 2nd half. you'd have to feel that a similar display from tipp will not be enough in the munster final.
