Three weeks away. Honestly can't see Clare winning this, Tipp have been operating in Division 1, while Division 2 has been detrimental to Clare. True they have a lot of talented young players, but it's a big ask to defeat the All-Ireland champions. Also their defence left a lot to be desired in the division 2 final, a game they probably should have won. Unless Declan Ryan underestimate the Clare lads, which they won't (I've met them a few times, humble in nature, which was probably lacking in the 1980's Tipp team) I can't see how Clare will win. Tipp by 7/8 points.

clare are probably just as talented as tipp with players like cooney , dillon , odonovan , oconnell , ryan , mcgrath , collins and honan but arent as experienced , lack leadership and lack physicality , tipp to win but again they,ll have a massive fadeout period where they will be completely dominated like they were yesterday which will keep the game competitive

Clare will give it a go but realistically they will be hoping to get a run through the qualifiers. Speaking of which there will be a few serious teams in that mix after the provincial semis. You would have to fancy Cork and Offaly to come through the first stage then you will have the likes of Waterford/Limercik, Clare, Dublin/Galway, Wexford which will make for some good games. Shaping up to be a really interesting championship.

Why did the administrator change the title of the thread? Let's not forget only for a great save from Cummins in 2009, Clare would have beaten us, i don't think Declan will want that situation again. I'd prefer if they had a steady stream of scores, rather than a big scoring burst and not score for twenty minutes. The Tipp players look like they have bulked up a bit, i just hope they haven't sacrificed skill for muscle too much. I am glad e is trying to put a different stamp on the team. Anyway if the forwards click, they should win by 6 or 7 points. I think we have a few more forwards to choose from since 2009. It might be a good chance to give Shane Bourke a runout.

Mulman I agree we should walk this one.Clare havent the depth we have however you talked about giving players a run out and I wouldnt agree.If we do that it shows Clare that we are complacent and we may well regret it.He has to put the best 15 out

The venue is Limerick it had already been decreed by GAA that winners of Tipp/Cork V Clare in Limerick/Thurles.It nonsence have Thurles as 1)Clare Tipp dont have home and away arrangment (Clare similar Waterford dont have home away arrangment in Munster) Senior Hurling championship 2)It be unfair Clare fans as take East Clare fans at least 1 hour get Thurles and if you go west of Ennis could take Clare fans North and West Clare up to 2.5 hours!By been held in Limerick it more central for both sets of fans, and more likely to get bigger attendence there you are now Stekhli a lesson on fixture arrangment in Munster senior hurling and geography lesson of Mid-West!

On match well for first time in 20 years Clare fans you could say not confident of Clare win.As they showed against Cork and Cats last year they have best team and when they catch fire no stopping them.Clare still in Div.2.We disappointed lose Limerick in League and played well enough to win but goals were bad goals what we conceded.To put things in perpective they young and talented with most current team were on 2009 U-21 All-Ireland winning team and I expect up to 11 of that U-21 team to start against Tipp!There may only 4 or 5 of Clare team in 2008 Munster Final will start against Tipp!It team for the future and with minors reach All-Ireland Minor Final last year it good repersentation of Clare lads on Ard Scoil team won Harty and Limerick IT and NUIG future looks good.

We problems in full back line hopefully find settled full back(Vaughan solid corner and Domhall O'Donovan injured hopefully Dillion and Conney show form they did last year and Eamon Glynn did fine against Galway) but half back line get stronger ( Donnellan James McInerney now with Bugler available and emergence of young Patrick O'Connor)and Nicky is a def start at midfield Markam and Cormac O'Donovan vying for midfield spot with Nicky.Lot of talent in foward Conlon Honan McGrath and Ryan Collins and experienced fellas like Clancy and McMahon have do better than then did against Limerick as we didnt score last 15 mins.
On paper looking ominious for us but they young and talented and every game they play against Div 1 teams get better,in challenge games recently we beat Galway and ran Waterford close.Ok only challenge games but these matches before championship are usually good indicator how team perform in championship.
They nothing to lose and sure they be very competitive and do Clare proud and run in qualifiers best hope and again more Div 1 teams they play the better they become and hopefully few years we have silverware back in Banner

Ok Don't know why my last post wasn't put up??

Basically said that I expected clare to be better in the last few years their excelent u21 team havn't made the impact in the senior team I was expecting yet. Also they've lost their way a bit since lynch retired and also O'connell was a big loss when he emmigrated as was griffin when he pulled out of the county setup.

I don't think the sparrow has brought the team on much, but if the clare team gels who knows definately a bit of potenial there but they havn't come near to reaching it yet

Clare will be well up for this match as they always are against tipp. We beat them by 2 points the last time we met. Both Limerick and Clare are coming into championship under the radar after playing division 2 league. I wouldn't be at all surprised if one of them makes the Munster final.

Calm down fellow tipp fans we've only won a munster quarter final and it's still May, let's not get carried away like we always do.

Not getting carried away at all, and i made a point that only for Cummins' save two years ago we would have been beaten. I'd like to think it will be different this time around as we are all ireland champions. No one denies that Clare have very good young players, but without an experienced old head in the team, it is a tall ask for them to defeat Tipp. Also it's great to hear the likes of Corbett and Kelly ruling out any complacency, so hopefully we will be in a munster final then.

I would expect Tipp to win this. But, in light of the game yesterday, limerick made light of their DIV 2 status, so why should Clare. They have spent more time there alright, but they stayed with waterford for 60 mins last year. If Clare get their gander up, it'll be a nervous time for us Tipp fans. I don't think it should come to that. If Tipp get an early goal i'd be confident we could push on. Six days to go, C'mon the premier!

I don't know how i feel about it, clare's back line was poor against limerick and i think we should get 2 or 3 goals, but i'm sure they'll feel confident about our full back line also. I think it will be like the 2009 match, tipp take a big lead but clare still have a chance to win it at the end.
