A Plan for the Development of Kilkenny Football

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Bobo you are one of the wordless worriers I was referring to. Firstly you scream abuse at my county for not having a good hurling set up and the suggestion that we suspend the co team until we improve at youth level. Then you also complain about the team getting heavily beaten.

Hurling may never happen in Cavan but leave those who really care to make efforts to improve or to try and get some semblance of hurling up and running. You seem to take these opportunities to slag my county and our clubs. Cavan hurling and KK football do not need your hysterical ravings and contradictory arguments.

onc unlike you who by your own admission has never attended a cavan club or county hurling match in your life i recently attained my foundation hurling badge and am coaching young cavan lads so let those who are interested in the development have their say and not the likes of yourself who gives nothing to improve your counties lot

Bobo hardly any body plays hurling in my county so the vast majority of people here never attended a club or County hurling match in the county.

If you focus on your coaching instead of the Anti Kk football and Cavan hurling ranting we should see progress.

onc ill do just that but i dont belive myself to be anti anyone to be honest. but as my earlier post pointed out those two county boards as a school report would say need to do better and not pay lip service to its weaker code.Could you imagine what the gaa lanscape would look like if countys decided like kk in particular to choose 1 code and put all its reserves into that well i can tell you not that youd care judging by previous posts but it would signal the death of hurling. we need consistency not exceptions many counties with small populations field two competitive teams. And finally this argument nobody plays football in kk or hurling in cavan is a joke of course they dont kids dont get the oppertunity but hopefully that will change

Lifford Gael doesn't speak for the rest of the County! It just seems to be one man's (whacky) opinion on the state of football in Kilkenny.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How do you know I don't speak for the rest of the county? Who are you to state whether I do or not? Are you self appointed to speak for the county? Get a grip. I never claimed to speak for the rest of the county. It's my opinion!

The state of Kilkenny football needs addressing and I haven't seen any constructive proposals as an alternative to the one I offered. Booboo appears the only other one here to actually realise how bad the situation really is - all the others care about is shooting the messenger without offering anything constructive in its place...

Oh so your a messenger now, a messenger for who pray tell, I don't know why a Donegal man would be so concerned over the situation with Kilkenny football but if you think your "proposals" are constructive then I would fear as much for the future of Donegal football as I would Kilkenny if that is the type of thinking that goes on in the North West, although I do believe your view is a singular one

its not a joke bobo it a reality

hurling is practically non existent in Cavan, you howled like a Table Mountain monkey when it was suggested that Cavan disband the hapless senior team and concentrate on underage. You attacked football clubs who couldn't accomodate hurling and when a club did take on hurling you dissed them as a backwater team and called us ignorant.

From your previous posts you seem to have changed your tune, if your coaching works then more luck to you but as they say you catch more bees with honey.....

Perhaps he might look into the handball situation in Donegal

I see what your getting at dhorse

This is a smokescreen to deflect from the deplorable state of handball in Donegal

Kilkenny are the unwitting victims of this dastardly ploy

It sickens me to the very pit of my stomach but that's a different type of hurling

This topic is like playing a broken record at this stage, it's been discussed to death. Interestingly it raises it's ugly head again after Sunday. Is there a hint of jealousy at Kilkenny's success in hurling over the past decade and now a case of kicking them when they are down.

Here lads I wouldn't pass heed to LG, ya'd want to see what they try and pass as 'football' in Lifford. Not for the faint hearted let me assure you....

Stick to the point lads. The issue here is Kilkenny football....not Donegal football, Donegal hurling or Donegal handball.

How sad are ye that when ye haven't anything constructive to say ye always have to have a go at the poster's county.....Grow up the lot of ye....!.....Do ye realise how pathetic it sounds.....

As pathetic as realistically suggesting that a Senior Mens Football Team join a Ladies league?

Square Ball:

What is so wrong with my proposal? It is sexist comments like yours from the dark ages that has this country the way it is. Why shouldn't men and women play on the one pitch? You really need to start thinking outside the box and enlighten yourself rather than criticising something just because it hasn't been done before. It would be good for football in Kilkenny and provide competitive games where they can actually compete without being humiliated week in week out.

I certainly wasn't having a go at Donegal but at the notion that you are carrying the torch for kk football

Other than Mixed Doubles Tennis or the Cuman na mBunscoil matches (which is the closest you'll get to a mixed sex game) name us a mainstream sport in which mixing the sexes (i.e. men competing directly against women or vice versa) has worked and/or is widely followed!

And it's not sexist to say it wouldn't work. It's realistic. Even the physicality and the rules that govern the genders in Football make it a no-go area.

I've a feeling your a bit of a WUM! Judging by some of your posts on this site, and on others, it's hard to believe that you can even take yourself seriously.
