Eamonn Coleman RIP, would have won another AI or gotten close with that Derry squad had the County Board not interfered. Mickey Moran was quite good as well, many people forget he get us to an AI Semi-Final in 2004 the year he left the post.

I thought Mickey Moran did very well with Mayo, couldn't believe it when they let him go. I suppose it's hard for a county with a proud GAA tradition to accept a manager from another county. I know of only two counties that have ever won All-Irelands with outside managers; Offaly with Eugene McGee in football in 1982 and Offaly again with Eamonn Cregan in hurling in 1994. Am I wrong there? Has there been more?

54819 art mc rory. although micky harte won 2 all-irelands a league and ulster titles as well as loads at underage level, for which i say he is also a great manager, but art had to take a team who wern't used to winning and he hadn't got as much talent to work with. altough he didn't land the ultimate prize he laid alot of the founds and it was right to bring micky when they did because art had done all he could it just needed new ideas to add the finishing touches. its like building a house the man who laid the block had the toughest job but the painter made it look good.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although he is a fellow Dungannon man, I'm afraid that if Art was still in charge, the house still wouldn't be painted. Art sent out physically fit and committed sides, but hadn't the tactical knowledge to get over the line. I think of him as our version of John Maughan.

it's still hard to believe that we started Ciaran Loughran in the 1995 all-ireland final ahead of Mattie McGleenan, Adrian Cush (injured for final but had been a sub all year anyway) and Gerald Cavlan (scored 1-6 away to Derry in the league 2 weeks later).

Same in 86 against Kerry, '96 against Meath and 02 against Sligo - when things turned against him, Art was, unfortunately, lost. A good servant to Tyrone football, but not a great manager.

Agree with jmeehan for the first time. Best to date has been Sean McCague.

Here's where we disagree - The Banty will be the best.

Justin did well for us, but stayed that little bit too long. He should have went last year. I am sure that he knew that many people were of the believe he could not deliver us the big one.

in Football our present Manager john "Jackson" Kiely is one of the best around.

Youre forgetting about Mayo's John O Mahony winning two All-Irelands with Galway
